SOLVED: Attach GI Sling to M400 Tread stock stock

I have a SIG M400 Tread with the stock stock  ;D   In the attached pictures, I have my VTAC 2 point sling attached to the rear to demonstrate the only rear sling attachment point I have (except for the QD sockets on either side near the forward assist).  What hardware do I need to attach the GI Sling to the rear but still allow quick conversion to loop it on my arm?

Not the worst I've seen...
Run a heavy-duty cable tie through the slot, making a loop that hangs under the stock. Make sure the loop is of suitable size to clip the J-hook to.

Something like that will have to do if I can't find another option.

Perhaps I can take a 1-1/4" nylon strap with a 1-1/4" metal buckle and rig it up in a position that works.

So the stock on that is a Magpul SL-K

You have two "real" solutions there.  First is to just thread the sling through that slot, but that kinda sucks.  I see you have a picture of that, but it'll be a pain to get off and on.  The better solution is to use a magpul M-LOK QD Sling Mount: https://magpul.com/m-lok-qd-sling-mount.html

Attach that to the slot, and then use a qd sling swivel to attach to the rifle: https://magpul.com/qd-sling-swivel.html?mp_global_color=undefined (It looks like you already have some of those, from the pictures?)

Most magpul stocks come with an actual qd point already in the stock, but the SL-K does not, so you need the extra part.

I use the qd sling swivel on my UBR for service rifle, it works great.

So the M-LOK QD mount will hold well on the slot?  That sounds like the best option.

And yes, I have the M-LOK mount on the front, and a couple of the QD swivels.  So I could get away with just getting another M-LOK mount for the rear.  I won't be using the VTAC sling for the Appleseed clinic so I can take the other QD swivel off there.

Thanks, that sounds like the way I will go.

I would drill a hole just ahead of the butt pad where the material is thickest and thread a plain ole quick detach stud in there.

Oh even better if you already have one, you can just try putting in back and see if it holds well enough.  It should...

If you go with a threaded stud I would add epoxy it in place.
