Scroll down for an Update!

Colorado Appleseeders, the first events of 2021 are being planned.

April 2021. April 19th is Patriot's Day and we will commemorate that heritage at every shoot taking place in April! And it looks like we will have three Patriot's Events in April on three successive weekends; Denver, Colorado Springs and Boulder! The Denver and COS events are finalized and should be available for sign up in a couple of days. Patriot's shoots are special and we do a couple of special things every year to set them apart from other Appleseeds. So, as you may have guessed, these can fill up quickly so get your spot early!

May 2021 is going to be full of chances to embrace liberty and work on your marksmanship!

May 8-9, 2021changed May 22-23, 2021:  Unknown Distance! Find "hidden" targets, range and engage . . . some out past 1100 yards. The only prerequisite is to have attended a regular Appleseed and be proficient in those fundamentals. This is a super popular specialty shoot down at NRA Whittington Center across the border in Raton and will be put on by one of the most experienced Appleseed Instructors west of the Mississippi. There are only a handful of ranges capable of hosting this event in the United States!

May 14 (Friday): A one day Pistol Clinic in Cheyenne, WY. This will be the second Appleseed Pistol Clinic in the Front Range open to the public. The first one sold out in a matter of days. After the Pistol Clinic, stay for the Appleseed which follows on Saturday and Sunday. It could be a great weekend to improve Pistol and Rifle skills!

May 15-16: Regular Appleseed Event in Cheyenne, WY. This one will be hosted by the Regional Coordinator and he promises 'awesomeness'!! See above for the pistol clinic we'll have on Friday.

May 22-23 (TBD): Rimfire Known Distance in Boulder, CO. If you've mastered your rimfire rifle on the 25m range, come out to this one-day event to extend your range out to 100 yards. Again, the prerequisite for this event is to have attended a regular Appleseed and be proficient in those fundamentals.

That's everything on the horizon for now. We're looking forward to 2021 and a big year for Appleseed on the Front Range and we'd love to see you there. Keep your Colorado Appleseed forum set to "notify" and you'll be the first to know of upcoming events.

In liberty,

Just a quick update . . .

The first Colorado event will be the IBC (Instructor Boot Camp) on March 26-28. It should come online in the next day or two and there will be a thread started with information and to provide a place to post questions. All volunteers of any hat color and those interested in becoming a volunteer are invited! Colonial Shooter will be coming down from Wyoming and I will promise a great time or double your money back.

There are three "Patriot Day" events in April. The first two have been posted. One is already sold out and the other only has two slots left! The third event will be at the Boulder Rifle Club on April 24-25. The dates are approved by the club but there's still some outstanding paperwork for this year's Boulder events which probably won't be completed until near the end of the month. So expect those events will get posted for shooters and volunteers to sign up at that time.

Would any Appleseeders be interested in putting together a one-day instructor/family event on Monday, April 19 down in Colorado Springs. Black Russian said he might be able to get us a range and we could do some shooting and a memorial volley if there's any interest. I know it's a work day but check your schedules and post here if you're interested.

I am interested in the potential April 19 event.

Captain

Wow, the first two Appleseeds of 2021 are SOLD OUT! We do have another event in Boulder scheduled for April 24-25. The event is approved by the clubs membership and board and will be posted as soon as the official paperwork has been completed on both ends. This is still about 2-3 weeks in the future. There will be a post here as soon as it's available to sign-up; so set this board (Colorado) to "notify" so you don't miss it. Many more events to come as our scheduled events fill up.

Captain,

Any luck getting the shoot at the Boulder Rifle Club finalized?

Captain

Hey Soupsandwich, welcome to the board (and specifically the Colorado Board).

It's a great question. The April 24-25, 2021 shoot at the Boulder Rifle Club (BRC) has been approved by the BRC board and by the membership. There is just a matter of some paperwork the club will complete before the event can be officially posted for folks to sign up. So this event is a "GO", but no one will see it until we get all the paper work finished (sound familiar). Given the current COVID restrictions, this event will be limited to 8 shooters when it posts.

The best course of action is to set the Colorado board to "notify". As soon as I send the event up to the man behind the curtain (Scuzzy :) ) , I will make a post here on this thread and you'll get an email so you can sign up.

I look forward to seeing you at the event!!!
