This was in the NY post-look for it over the next days.  Our members will be interested in this initiative. The President  is looking forward to 2026 - our 250th anniversary- and the initiative is to again teach the miracle of the founding of our Nation.

See article:  https://theusawire.com/2020/09/28790-betsy-devos-promotes-real-black-history-real-education-reform-with-1776-unites/. More to come.

Huzzah!  ^:)^

This is a great first-step towards winning back the hearts and minds of our Nation's kids, too long abandoned to the meandering Marxism and America-last self-loathing that seems to be the prescribed pablum of our public schools. <rant off>

The point of contact would be the secretary of education Betsy DeVos. She proposed this. Her name came up in the news. I can write this, but it seems like mainly a job for our Public Relations Office. Extra letters from our membership describing how Americans are awakened to their heritage through Appleseed would always help- I think this might be a "call to turn out" (friendly of course) on this point of the Mission. I haven't seen the EO yet but let's go for the Presidential Endorsement for sure.  There are others who may be reached as well, both federal and state. Our program is friend to all, enemy to none-this policy was always in Appleseed and so an endorsement would be a most reasonable request.

I'll put together a format for such letters when I get to the office Monday.
Also, let us all  contact our local folks too-they can make state/federal level things happen.

The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed -- where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.

We definitely need more 1775-1776 in our country and less debunked 1619 project, or the new NY Times history curriculum in our culture.  This school year Chicago city leaders call for history to be suspended in schools until they could find a new curriculum that was left enough for the city council.

The hardest distance to shoot is the six inches between your ears.  It gets easier when you get out of your own way.  Self doubt and negative self talk have no place on the firing line.
Once a shot is gone... good or bad, it is gone.   Focus on the next one. Make forty good first shots.
