Ramseur, NC AAR - June 20-21, 2020

This weekend went excellent, with a good amount of enthusiasm shown by all attendees and instructors, despite the humidity, heat, and rain.
Given the COVID, we took appropriate precautions and we able to work with a more intimate sized group, adapting well to our present circumstances.
We went through the full curriculum, starting with our safety briefing, shooting our red coats, and then the three pillars of marksmanship: NPOA, Steady hold factors, & 6-Steps of firing the shot. During lunch we were regaled with our fine shared history in the form of the first two strikes. Then it was time for finding the seated and standing position instruction, before getting in our AQT. We brought things to a close on the first day with the third strike, and then giving the Redcoat what for!

On Sunday, We started with an exceptional Known Distance talk about how to apply our fundamentals at range, followed closely by an expedient review of the preceding days curriculum. Then all shooters had the honor to shoot the Redcoat and AQTs. Some of the group took the change to shoot out to 500 yds with their new found skills.

We honored our heritage through history and marksmanship with everyone working very hard. The weekend was top notice as far as participation went, with good attitudes all around. Our group really rose to the occasion, with the weekend culminating in the making of a new Rifleman, with two shooters stepping up to the challenge of Orange Hat, and one IIT fulfilling his potential progressing to a full Instructor.

Thank you to all that came and make the weekend so special,
