It was at Dickerson's Barn. What a turnout! This was the first gun show since the election and it was packed on Saturday but a bit less today.
Our newest IIT's Spinner and Buck were there to help out.  Buck made a real top notch slide show presentation.  O0
Thanks to both of you guys for your dedication and help! O0 Your help made the event run smooth and efficiently. With plenty of folks to now work the table, a few of us worked the floors bringing the message to them. Pssst...Saturday was Buck's birthday.
Sunday SamD and I had a chance to take the 10 minute drive to the range to check a few set up details on the bay we reserved.
The flags SamD brought got lot's of compliments too!

We passed out a mini package of over 250 Swat's with event flyers, a copy of the Dillon article and a target. We started running out by noon Sat so BlueFeather made a run to Kinko's and got back just as we were handing out the last flyers. Each person who got a package always got the message of Appleseed's heritage and marksmanship. People were genuinely impressed with the concept. There were lots of families there too. There were employees from local gun shops, Sportsman's Warehouse and local clubs. Some folks have said they have heard of us before so our message is slowly getting out.

Sunday we focused a bit more on vendors, business's and civic organizations. Saturday night, SamD went home a created a flyer specifically for these groups. Great effort Sam!

We originally were scheduled to be set up in the middle of the floor, but a space was available on the wall that gave us high visibility and a speedy and efficient set up for the flags and banner. Dan, the Lyon's Club event scheduler for the gun show graciously made that quick change for us. Thanks Dan!

No matter where you were inside Dickerson's Barn, we were visible!

Those orange hats sure are visible even across the room! We were forging battle plans just before the doors opened Sunday.

It's back to work now as we got our first shoot here in Las Cruces in a couple weeks!

Great show with lots of good contacts made.
It is as important to work the vendors as the crowd.

Take the time to explain that Appleseed is good for business. Vendors need to know that people need rifles ammo and accessories before they go to an Appleseed, and that they need even more rifles, ammo and accessories AFTER an Appleseed.  It pays for them to give us posting space in their stores and on their counters. It pays for them to send the buyer of a new rifle to us for instruction.

Work the gun clubs that display at shows. They need to know that as people become more serious shooters they need places to shoot.  That as they get better they do things like compete, that Appleseed people are ACTIVE and liable to be a great benefit to the club, and that letting us use their facilities will generate more interest and possibly revenue for their club.  Many clubs are dying from lack of participation. Active people are just that ACTIVE.

Fraternal organizations sometimes sponsor shows, just like the Lions in Las Cruces sponsored this show.
Let them know that Appleseeders are civic minded people that PARTICIPATE in the community, liable to take an interest in things, do things, be connected in the area.  Keeping Appleseed in a very positive light with those sponsors will help you get good placement at future shows, just like TaosGlock said above. It also helps a lot because they will often give you use of the table for NOTHING.

As always a great bunch of Appleseed people. It is interesting to watch the ways we use to sell Appleseed to the public.  Spinner hit 'em like an old pro.  She was a hit with everyone she came in contact with. We are going to have a great turnout for the 28-1 shoot.
We are going to buy Buck a pair of Black/Yellow plaid pants and some white loafers. He has great potential in the used car business ;D  Seriously, he is a young fellow with firm ideas about things, give them serious thought. Very persuasive guy. He's going places and promoting Appleseed is just one of them O0

   Great report, and great pics!

   That's a good-looking crew in New Mehico!

Sam, if you haven't already posted the "special flyer for vendors, etc" how about posting it on this site so others can have access and use it...

Great work!!  Kudos to all of you.

BUT..... correct me if I'm wrong, those "wonderfully visible " hats are the wrong color! ( at least, 3 of them)
Frrreeedddd!!! Our N.M Red Hats are out of uniform! Those Orange hats need to be looking for new heads....LOL

With this kind of promotion, you should have excellent turnouts for your shoots.

Quite a nice venue. too.

The hat logistic system is a bit out of whack.
We will start getting it right this weekend.
The orange ones are barely comfortable wear yet and already we need to change ;)

I would hardly call this the definitive one to hand out.
Whipped it up between cup of coffee #2 adn heading out the door based on an idea that came up at 0300 between dreams about a 250 AQT ;D
Please feel free to polish as desired.
