600 yards again, at Vets Shooting Center, 24 October 2019

Yep, 600 yards again at Vets Shooting Center! This time, I was again shooting one of God's gifts to the Rifleman, yes an M14! Huzzaah! This particular M14 was assembled by JY Wolfe and company in North Carolina, what an excellent rifle, very well suited to hammering the black, time and time again and in a caliber that inspires confidence, the mighty 7.62 NATO!

Riflemen were armed today with one M14, one 1903A3 and AR15's, all shot well.

Did you know, that being very proficient at hitting that target at 600 yards, makes hitting the 400 seem like a chip shot? Well, it does! Every once in a while, we will go over to the steel range for some 400 steel shooting, most just say "really?", lets go back to the 600! We do go ahead and shoot the slowfire 400, rapid 300, sitting 200 and standing 100, just to say we did it, on hits count, we see a lot of 50/50's. Of course, these are just for practice, we have to go to an official KD to make it official! But, we have done that too.

As usual, we invite all who would like to maintain proficiency at KD all through the year, to meet us at the range for 600 yard shooting, the KD steel range or we will shoot the reduced course, we just like to shoot! We will even loan rifles and ammo, if needed.

This weeks 600 yard matches, is cancelled. We will probably shoot steel on the KD range on Friday.
