In a previous thread Charles McKinley recommended that I go to Rimfire Central and read about the chamfered bolt modification. So I did. Here is the link.

https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=251031

I don't have a disk sander, but I was going to get one and do it. I wanted to get an used bolt to to do it to first, in case I messed it up. So I went to the place where I always go to by used gun parts, Ebay. They had some really gnarly ones for $40 delivered. They looked like they were recovered from a land fill. Ebay recommended the JWH basic bolt. It has a radiused back edge, so it's going to impact the hammer at the same point as the Rimfire Central Chamfer modification.

After figuring tool costs and other, buying a JWH basic bolt was by far the most cost effective option and is also the lazy way to go. So I did it.

I put 170 rounds through my rifle (with the JWH basic bolt installed) today using CCI SV and had ZERO malfunctions.

I did mine, radius and polish many years ago.
No regrets.

Another 253 rounds with two stove pipes this weekend. Then, I gave my rifle a good scrubbing.

The running total is 599 rounds of CCI SV fired and three stove pipes with the radiused bolt back.

I'm pretty sure that I had more frequent stove pipes using CCI MINI MAGS with the stock bolt configuration.

Appleseed is next weekend in Hot Springs.

I went back to Hoppes #9, because I found the bottle. I have used Remington spray can oil.

Regardless as to which one, I always use lots of it. That's why they invented safety glasses.

I have to say that I have had zero stovepipes since I went back to Hoppes #9.
