As some of you know 8 months ago we lost our range here in Alice. Well after 3 City council meetings and 4 County Commissioners court meetings :wb: promoting Appleseed we are once again allowed back on our range. :F It has been a hard fight but so worth it. Last election a couple of non believers were elected and tried to run us off, not just Appleseed but all shooters. It took 8 months of struggling with elected officials and city and county politicians to convince them to let us all back in. I am so excited!  ^:)^ So you will see the fall shoots posted soon. I encourage everyone to stay active in your local Govt. Once we lose our rights its extremely hard to get them back.

Buku Thanks!!

I appreciate that you've taken all the time to deal with those 'folks' and kept Appleseed alive there in Alice. You have more patience than I do. I tend to have a short fuse dealing with those types.

I need to get involved again here in Lampasas. I told a bunch of people where to go (where the sun doesn't shine) the last time I attended a meeting. Oddly enough I saw the head honcho recently and he asked why I hadn't been out to any meetings the last 2 years. Said he'd really like to see me attend again.

It's funny because I'd raise hell and everybody else was quite as a church mouse. Then after the meetings everybody would come up to me and say 'thanks for saying what we all felt.' Used to get me a bit pissed that they wouldn't stand with me during the meetings.

Anyhow - ought to give it another shot. Your example is my motivation.

I am so glad to hear it! Persistence pays off. Luckily the heat of summer soaked up a lot of that absentee time. You have me as a sign up.
