Custer, SD AAR for July 6-7, 2019

We were pleased that Mike at Southern Hills Tactical hosted another Appleseed shoot at his business and range in Custer, South Dakota in the beautiful Black Hills.  We had perfect weather for this shoot as it was cloudy and cool on Saturday and sunny and pleasant on Sunday.  Matt from California and his dad from Louisiana were meeting for a reunion in the area, and they signed up to spend the weekend shooting with us before they roam the area looking at all the neat attractions including Mount Rushmore etc.  Also had Steve and son Noah from the Hermosa area, Scottie from Oral, and John and father Dave from the Rapid City area.  Found out that John and Dave were active Appleseed instructors from Alaska, before their move back to the area a couple of years ago.  Now that they are getting done with building a new home,  they plan to get back in to the program, and we are so glad for that as we need to add numbers to our instructor corps in west river South Dakota.  John is an awesome shot and cleared all four Redcoats and shot Rifleman scores on every target of the weekend!!  He is working on the distinguished and 250 patches, and I'm sure will do so.  Enjoyed the weekend and the patriotic Americans!  Thanks to Bill and Derek for manning the line and helping to keep this fun bunch in line!!
