Our weekend began with a great group of 10 shooters ready to learn.  4 of our shooters were youth, and it is always wonderful to see families come together at events!  All of our shooters showed interest in the history presentations and showed excellent progress in their shooting skills as the weekend progressed.

Saturday looked like it would rain most of the day, and at the end of afternoon our day was abruptly ended with heavy rain and strong winds.  Fortunately rifles remained on the mats, but everything else started flying everywhere.  Target backers were carried away and gear started blowing all over the place!!  All shooters were able to safely but quickly pack up rifles and gear.

Sunday was much colder, but at least the sun was shining!  7 shooters were able to return, and by the end of the day we had 3 new riflemen!!  Everyone had made great progress and showed much interest throughout the weekend.

Thanks so much to all of our shooters for attending and I hope to see everyone at future events.
As always, thanks so much to the Henry County Gun Club for hosting us.

Great job by all instructors as well!

Tennessee Beast

I really enjoyed working with the Western Tennessee and Kentucky cadre this past weekend (especially since I am originally from West Tennessee).  It turned out to be a great event and I was proud to be a part of it. Absolutely everyone showed improvement. The highlight of the weekend was hearing dond tell the third strike in the rain.  Here are some pictures that I took.
In giving us dominion over the animal kingdom, God has signified His will that we subdue the beast within ourselves.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin, 1775

"A free people ought not only to be armed, but disciplined; to which end a uniform and well-digested plan is requisite; and their safety and interest require that they should promote such manufactories as tend to render them independent of others for essential, particularly military, supplies."  George Washington 1790

"[T]o preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them…"

A great event at Puryear this weekend! A really good group of shooters who all persisted. A lot of improvement and smiles on the line. Good to work with all the Instructors. Alan broke through some frustration to get his patch. Stan had some initial issues finding harmony with his stock, but did and shot Rifleman. Scott shot well from the outset and proved his skills with a patch as well. Natalia really improved and showed a lot of great attitude both days. Maddie and Elijah did well too. I see a patch in the not too distant future for Maddie. Lowell showed a lot of improvement and determination. Too bad the other shooters couldn't make it back on Sunday but hopefully they will return in the future.

Here are a few pics
