The instructors GDawg, SMRollins and Mechanic had a Saturday evolve into one of the best for us here at Baconton.

Four Students who all have Appleseed events to their credit gave a performance that made this about as a good a Christmas Present as you could ask for.

Miki determined to whip that Stage 1 gremlin, Josh grinning to improve what his first Appleseed already helped him achieve--venison, and these two gentlemen that drove across the State of Georgia to get to their third and fourth Appleseed were all about to impress the instructors.

The weather forecast was not promising, the December days already short, and long rides home put the spurs into the morning; our asset was Students familiar with Safety, AQT's, and Improving!

Administrative details, Introductions all around, and Safety covered, we started into AQT's.  Scores began in the 180's, worked up to the "wall" of just over the 200 line, and we had 4 AQT's by the time the frustration and hunger made the break for lunch more of a benefit than we thought.

Time to stretch, have conversation, warm up and refresh, we packed 3 Strikes in (in 40 minutes!), and dove back into the forge!

A new perspective had a pronounced effect...2 more AQT's, with attention during that time to offer insight on Breathing, Steady Hold Factors, NPOA, Trigger Control and raw determination pushed scores over 210.

Miki smiling the whole time to work on Stage 1 and become an even better Riflewoman, Josh confidently improving on what he has already begun to make good habits, and these two gentlemen, Dave and Joe, that drove across the State of Georgia in a white-hot pursuit of a Rifleman Patch.

Six AQT's into the day and Riflemen!  Josh 211  :  Joe 221  :  Dave 222

Mechanic made a 3+ hour ride to lend his support to our one-day, great pictures, and engaged with the students.  Thank You, sir!

SMRollins doing the Admin detail to keep it all together and offering good instruction on the line is paramount to our Baconton events.

GDawg getting the pace set early as the a.m. Line Boss and his sparkling attitude round out the time we get to spend with students.

People like this, as fine as Frog's Hair, are rare indeed. For me, the serendipity of never knowing who might decide to take up a position on the Line is the reward.

We may never repay the debt to those who gave us this Republic, but we can know that we did something In Their Honor.

Merry Christmas
