Wow! What a great day to honor our tradition of marksmanship. The weather was cool and clear and warmed up a bit on Sunday. Seven shooters were all-in from start to finish. Our eighth shooter, Asa was only able to join us Saturday afternoon because of work commitments. He's shot before and knows very well what he's about. Two junior shooters convincingly shot Rifleman scores. Philip requalifed three times on Sunday and Asher shot score Saturday at his second Appleseed. They both are now trying to score with a bolt gun and we look forward to seeing orange hats on these two fine young men. Haille has steadily improved each time she attends and shot 205 Sunday. She is certain to become a Rifleman at her next AS. First timers Stephen, Carolyn, Patty and Nathanael persisted and steadily improved their marksmanship, doubling their Saturday scores on Sunday. After the Known Distance lesson we moved to the 100 yard firing line so they could apply their new knowledge of come-ups. Everyone was on paper and, after some fine tuning of the sights, shot satisfying groups on the simulated 400 yard targets. All were engaged in the stirring presentations of our history and the choices our forefathers made to ensure our liberty. To top things off we witnessed three Orange hats earn promotions. BlindDog and Bear Arms to IIT4 and MaidMarian to IIT3. Well deserved! HUZZAH! Roy, bill o rites has returned and we were grateful for his instruction skills on the line and stirring comments at the Sunday benediction. Here's the link to BlindDog's photo gallery of the event. Thanks Bill for your contribution.

Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
