Eleven shooters gathered from KY, TN, IN, and OH, to take on the challenge of a KD at the fantastic Rockcastle Shooting Center in Park City, KY.  Some were trying KD for their first time and some were returning shooters, but all were ready to gather data on their equipment and put rounds downrange.  :--- :---

Saturday morning we spent time in the classroom reviewing IMC for longer ranges and learning about compensating for trajectories and wind.  Then we were ready to head to the range to put our knowledge to the test.  We took sighters at each range then shot an AQT stage.  When the scores were tallied we had one new KD Rifleman, Pat with a score of 44, and a requalification, little buddy with a score of 47.   O0

Sunday morning we returned to the classroom to learn one of the other tasks of a Rifleman:  Range Estimation.  When we got to the range we set up a couple of cardboard targets and unknown distances along with an accompanying steel target.  Everyone had a chance to calculate range to the target then put one round downrange toward the steel to test their skills.  :snipersmi  Bailey and goodoldfriend were the most accurate in calculating target ranges.

We were able to complete three more AQTs with some great results.  There were a total of 5 new KD Rifleman and 1 requalification for the weekend.  Two of those, Chris and Bailey, were brand new Rifleman, and one was a Distinguished score by Pat. Congratulations to Bailey, goodoldfriend, Lucas, Pat, Chris, and little buddy!! ^:)^ ^:)^

Project Appleseed gained new volunteers to help spread the message as well.  Mark (CarrollMS) and James (entr04y) both stepped up to ask for a Blue Hat and Mark Bailey (Bailey) traded hat colors to Orange.  Welcome aboard and Huzzah!

From your instructor team of dond, Charley, little buddy, Bailey, and myself, we want to say that it was our honor to spend our weekend with you on the range and we hope to see you again soon.

Outstanding!  Great KD results!

We lost some attendees due to rain from the remnants of Hurricane Florence.  But, hope springs eternal, and there's always next year!
