Looking forward to a good shoot at Waitsburg Gun Club this weekend! Weather may be a bit warm for this western Washingtonian, but a dry heat should work well for forging Riflemen.

Thanks to all the shooters who came out and made this a good weekend, with positive attitudes in spite of the heat (88Ëš F is a lot for this old Western Washingtonian). This was my first time at Waitsburg Gun Club, and it was a pleasant location for an Appleseed; the range is shut down when we're there, so we had it to ourselves. Eating lunch without hearing protection is always a plus.

We saw Chris requalify as a Rifleman on Saturday, with a 224. Well done, sir, and sorry that you and Abigail weren't able to join us Sunday! Wes, one of our youth shooters, switched to being a Designated Marksman on Sunday. With a sandbag to help him work on his six steps, he worked up to a 187 by the end of the day. We saw improvement in a number of shooters through Sunday, thanks to Prescott's instruction, no doubt ;). Jesse improved to a 215 and a Rifleman patch on the final AQT. Huzzah! Ben was knocking at the door with a 192 by the end of the day, and will earn his patch with a bit of dry practice (remember: blank wall dryfire is good for follow through).

The Sunday redcoat was down to four intrepid shooters, as the heat and thoughts of getting up for work took their toll, and groups started to open up. Dry practice and work on making the prone steady hold factors into more comfortable positions will help everyone shrink those groups and start getting consistency.
