Two absolutely beautiful spring days, 24 Americans shooting and several of those were centerfire!  What could be better?   The students were truly wonderful, I feel like I have 20 new friends.

Did I mention the weather was fabulous?  Great teachable attitudes and smiles everywhere.  Number6 had a rouge fun shoot, Shootboss not needed, it was some kind of a Frankenstein thing.
My only disappointment is that we didn't have more Riflemen.  About 5 of the shooters were very close to making Rifleman.
I would encourage all you to keep at it.  Earning that Rifleman patch is extremely satisfying.

Make sure you have suitable equipment, a rifle that will hold zero and a good sling.  Then dryfire as much as possible while in position.  I would spend my time finding NPOA in prone and seated.  Do transitions.  Use reduced size targets. It is much better to do 5 minutes every day rather then 35 minutes once a week.  As always be safe, NO ammunition in the room when you are dryfiring and triple check the rifle.

Thank you to Lil Dragon and Ovenmit for helping out all weekend.
Also, thank you to the Instructors: T.Wolf, Mrsurplus, Devilkitty, number6 and Super Trooper.

What an awesome weekend.  Fantastic students, great weather, Patriots' Day weekend, what more could you ask for.

Congratulations to Garland on scoring rifleman with points to spare.

And hats off to the next generation of patriots.
The hardest distance to shoot is the six inches between your ears.  It gets easier when you get out of your own way.  Self doubt and negative self talk have no place on the firing line.
Once a shot is gone... good or bad, it is gone.   Focus on the next one. Make forty good first shots.

This is Garland, I made an account. Thanks to all the instructors for an excellent class! I'm definitely looking forward to the next class at BWSA!

Another great event. I'm still bushed and my voice is shot, but it was all worth it to spend a weekend with other fine Americans and it does my heart good to see such a great turnout. Monday I turned 49, but I got an early gift at Fenton.

I'm very proud of all of you, instructors and students alike. As I often say, "these are the kind of people I want for my neighbors".

To those "knocking at the door" of Rifleman, and those on their way: persist! Practice at home with your sling and positions, dry-fire "by the numbers", and you'll crack it. As Superheat wrote, it's very satisfying to get that patch. I'll go one farther and say that it's even more satisfying to help someone else earn it.

No photos from me, but I was kind of busy...

The sun was shining, the line was full, and the sounds of freedom were ringing loud and proud all weekend long. It was an honor to be out with all of you this Patriots Day weekend.

From the wholehearted (read loud) chorusing of the Four Safety Rules Saturday morning, I could tell this group was going to be involved and attentive. Each and every one of you listened and tried to follow all the instructions that were thrown at you and because of this, scores went up and up each AQT that was shot.

devilkiitty has it right. Practice and repetition are the keys to going from "knocking on the door" to walking through it. Dry fire at home, figure out how to build your nest, work on smoothing out your transitions and mag changes,  and the points will come. Riflemen persist.

This was a great start to the season and I look forward to seeing you back on the line at another event soon. Pictures to come.

Thanks to all

I had a blast and learned a lot. I improved dramatically and am looking forward to the next time out! The only thing better than the weather was the strong crew of volunteers. Thank you all for the lessons, time, and attention. See you soon!

I haven't stopped thinking about last weekend.
This by far has been the best shooting event I have had the privilege to attend.
Ive already ordered AQT targets and the Red Coat targets for practice.
" I'LL BE BACK " for the Riflemans patch. Lol
Thanks to all for a great weekend!

Someone left a Red bag chair and a red handled stapler.

Let me know how to get them back to you.

Great group of students, awesome event, and a perfect weekend!  It was a pleasure to meet so many enthusiastic first-timers. I know from experience it can be a little overwhelming 'drinking from the firehose', as we like to call it.  It was really inspiring to see how committed everyone was to improving over the course of the weekend. To echo the previous comments, if you practice the techniques you learned this weekend, your persistence will pay off.  I hope I have the opportunity to see all of you earn your patches at a future Appleseed - it would be an honor to have you back!

What a great event!

I primarily do Cowboy Action Shooting, but I am a firm believer in diversified training to benefit overall shooting skills.  I will be practicing what I learned, and I hope to earn the Rifleman patch in the future.

Thanks to all Appleseed personnel for all the guidance and help, and the history lessons.

Hey guys!
This is Jessica! I joined!
I am so glad I came to the event and I can't wait to come to the next one! I WANT THAT PURPLE PATCH!!!

I left with with bruises, sore muscles, and one particularly painful burn/blister, but I also left with a huge smile, way more confidence, and a new, more defined feeling of Freedom and Patriotism. I've never (and  I mean NEVER) been into history. I have trouble keeping dates and locations straight, but I found all of these stories SO interesting. I've never heard them told in a way that was so engaging and heartfelt. I could tell all the instructors are so passionate, and I LOVE seeing other people doing something they are passionate about.

Thank you to everyone involved, both on the field, and behind the scenes. You are all so amazing! I feel like I made new friends! :)

Thanks for posting up Leadfoot and Leadnthread.  It is great to get the feedback.  You both shot well and I look forward to seeing you both on the line again, real soon.
