The final event for 2017 Appleseed in Ct was held this past weekend at NWCSA in Colebrook. we had a small but enthusiastic group attend with some very good end results.

Saturday started with 2 shooters, Jeff and Ken, getting the program with POI's taught by the IT crew. Things went well throughout the day with minimal difficulties. We had the much anticipated snow start mid morning and continue thru the day. AQT's were fired before the weather and early sunset concluded the live firing for the day.

Jeff, having attended other 'seeds in the past, had his system worked out,and his performance showed it. Before the end of the day he re qualified with s score of 222, nice shooting Jeff!  ^:)^

Ken, a new shooter, took to the instruction like a duck to water. Steady progress thru the fundamentals and one on one coaching by Parallax netted him some very good groups and a huge improvement shown by his afternoon redcoat.

Sunday started clear and sunny, but our shooters were 2 who were unable to make it Saturday. Caitlin and Steve made the trek from the coast and were ready for the day's instruction. Both had fired at a Ct shoot this past year, had their equipment problems solved, and were ready for the AQT grind. By the end of the day Caitlin joined the ranks of Rifleman  :slap:, or should I say Riflewoman, with a score of 210. HUZZAH! Steven hung tough with scores pushing 200 by the end of the day.

The shooters were a great group to work with, all having covered the necessities to be comfortable for a winter shoot. Be it clothing, footwear or equipment, there were few problems and in those cases there was equipment and options to back everyone up. It made for a much more smoothly run and enjoyable experience.

The IT crew of Parallax and Scout74 did much to make sure everyone got the personal attention that makes a diifference to the shooters, with their scores and grouping showing it.

A big thank you goes out to the Northwest Ct Sportsman's Assn. for use of the facilities. The club has been a long standing supporter of Appleseed for over 8 years  and we look forward to returning there next year.

As always, a Rifleman persists.

3 cheers for all involved, it was a small but very satisfying endeavor.

Great job on the pics , I believe both scout and Parallax were donors to the photo album.
