Project Appleseed-Nebraska wrapped up its 2017 shoots with a two day Veteran's Day clinic at the Lincoln Izaak Walton League.

Six participants turned out and proved that they were not fair weather patriots. Saturday was cool and damp. A steady mist left shooting mats and targets soaked. Nevertheless everyone's marksmanship improved as evidenced by the Red Coat target shot at the end of the day.

Sunday was drier but still cool. With the sun being lower on the horizon, most of our range was covered in the shade of trees throughout the day. This along with a mild breeze might discourage shooters of a less rigid constitution.

Although no riflemen were made, two of our shooters, who were attending their first ‘seed came very close with scores of 206 and 199. These gentlemen are sure to succeed at a subsequent shoot.

The shoot went smoothly will all shooters bringing teachable attitudes and being attentive to line commands.

This was a tough group of shooters who took to heart the similarities in weather conditions to those that likely existed on the morning of April 19, 1775.
