It was great to get back onto the Appleseed Trail with the first shoot of the year at Piqua. This was an incredible weekend spent with a wonderful group of Americans!

The Buckeye Trapper started the history presentations in the morning with a little pre-history of what led up to the Revolution. Rattlehead presented the first strike and Chad did an excellent job with the second and third strikes.

We then spent the morning sorting out minor equipment issues while zeroing rifles, and going over all the basic Appleseed marksmanship instruction; we spent plenty of time to get everyone on track, which paid off throughout the rest of the weekend.

On the first AQT of the afternoon we had two rifleman's scores; Greg was shooting a bolt action, but that didn't keep him from scoring a 222 (then reconfirmed on the next AQT with an impressive 237), and eleven year old Haley Beth reconfirmed her rifleman status with a score of 212. On the second AQT, Todd joined the ranks of riflemen by shooting a 224, congratulations to all!

A team 100-yard shoot was held Sunday afternoon. Shooters were divided into teams of three with twenty rounds each, then given forty five seconds to go from standing to prone and score do as many hits as possible into a full size silhouette; congratulations to team two with about 45 hits.

Thanks go to the instructors of the event, The Buckeye Trapper, Coyote 217, Rattlehead, and Chad. Also thanks to Blue Hat, Haley Beth, for helping out on Saturday.
