Started rough, finished strong, great weekend at a new venue at the Millvale Sportsmen's Club in Wexford, PA.
A great big thanks to Michelle and Bryce for getting us hooked up to hold an Appleseed there. Beautiful grounds, clubhouse and parking. Range was also great as we were able to shoot both 25 meters and 200 yards from the same firing line which made Sunday afternoon very convenient. Saturday was challenging to say the least. 20+mph winds and almost non-stop rain most of the day. Very chilly never getting above 40. Canopies kept getting torn up and the line quickly became a soggy mess. Targets getting ripped off by the wind and soaked by the rain. But alas, perseverance, pride and patriotism prevailed.
Redcoat scores jumped dramatically between Saturday and Sunday morning. Great teachable attitudes from all of the shooters. Sunday was sunny but there was still a bit of chill and slight wind but that did not stop Joe, Carmen, Ben, Shawn and Bryce from qualifying with Bryce qualifying numerous times and clearing a Redcoat. Shot targets and Carmen's gong at 200 yards with many good hits. Great group of Instructors were focused, kept me honest and on track with Aragorn completing his promotion to ITT1.

An early Redcoat...

That's an interesting patch; what is it?
Pennsylvania 2nd Rifles Patch earned for clearing a Redcoat and or taking up an Orange Hat. Need to shoot in PA though to earn one.

Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery
