Greetings.

We've got an open slot in this coming weekend's Critical Threat Management Course in Hudson, IL.

It's a force-on-force course for civilians.

I'm making it available for any Appleseed Red Hat or higher at no charge.

Here are details about the course.

QuoteCritical Threat Management

Comprehensive Force-on-Force training to overcome a violent attack

Course purpose

GSL Defense Training's Critical Threat Management course integrates multiple layers of practical, defensive tactics to help keep you and your loved ones safer.

If you have the misfortune of being involved in a life threatening encounter with a criminal predator, you will need a different set of skills and experiences than are available from even the best concealed carry class, or any day at the range.

Criminal attacks can take the form of attempted armed robbery, battery, home invasion, mugging, or even just a fine, upstanding young gang member given a promotional opportunity and you're the lucky victim that represents prestige and a promotion for him (or her).

Acting competently, lawfully and responsibly in dangerous and stressful situations is uncomfortable, emotional, challenging - and at times just plain scary. Force-on-Force training is not something that most people will want to do, but the skills we'll teach you will help you avoid a bad situation.  If it comes to you despite your efforts to avoid it, this training will help you prevail and keep your loved ones safe as well.

This is just one of a tiny handful of training schools across the nation offering this training to civilians like you.

Remember, you don't chose to be a victim.  You wouldn't knowingly invite bad people into your life.  Criminal attack is forced upon the innocent by lawless individuals or groups and you are the first responder that can help yourself or those you love.

This class is designed to help you understand and recognize the behaviors of potential bad guys, both overt and subconscious cues.  We will help you decipher the signals you may be sending out to the predators - and teach you the signals you should be sending out.  We tell you the areas in your life where you will be more likely to be attacked and how to avoid victimization there.  We teach you how to look after your safety and those around you, as well as how to treat some of the injuries that can occur in these events.

GSL Defense Training's Force-on-Force class offers you exactly our name - defensive training - in context and in a way that everyone involved can be safe in class and safer in life.

As I mentioned, we have one student slot open for any Appleseed full instructor, shot boss, etc.

We also have slots available for role players and aggressors.

Translation:  You can bring a friend, spouse, partner, or relative with you (more than one, actually, if they're up for helping us out in role-player positions) and they can take in the lecture educational components at no charge.  Plus we'll feed them lunch, give them drinks (non-alcoholic, of course) and snacks.  Yes, it's a pretty sweet deal.

QuoteDo you want to have some fun learning about personal safety?  And help others learn the same?  Including how not to be a victim, and get a free lunch too?

We're looking for about a dozen plus role-players and a handful of aggressors for the upcoming GSL Defense Training Critical Threat Management class on May 21 & 22, 2016.

Role players are "extras", people who simply add realism to our scenarios and some exercises as bystanders / innocent participants.  They seldom (almost never) get shot by the Airsoft pellets, so don't worry about coming home looking like you're a speckled bird or have a sudden-onset case of chicken pox.

Aggressors are just that, and should wear extra clothing to avoid those painful airsoft strikes that aggressors are often want to receive when they are acting like bad guys in our scenarios.  Previous experience is not required.  We'll train you on the pre-violence and pre-incident body language indicators we want you to do as part of the scenarios.  You'll be the living, thinking, (and acting) "bad guys" in the scenarios.  Sometimes you'll be the solo bad guy/girl and other times, you'll be working on concert with other bad guys.

We need male, female, young and old.  Under 18s are not only "okay", but we could use a few, with mom and dad's permission.  Under 18s will serve in "role-player" roles only (unless they really want to be an aggressor, and only then with parents' permission and under our careful supervision), and most likely will not be hit by any airsoft pellets, but they'll still have a chance to learn and work on their acting skills!

The role-playing aspect will be Saturday morning from 0830 until about 1p and then again on Sunday afternoon from about 1:00-5:00pm.  We'll provide safety gear for you.

What's in it for you?

Education.  And lunch.

We'll feed you lunch if you want to stick around Saturday, and if you want to make a day of it (and Sunday), you can take in our lectures on Threat Identification and Management, Mindset, Asymmetrical Tactics, Legal Considerations to Using Deadly Force, and more.

You can also watch our practical exercises including Krav Maga and tactics.

Interested?  Again, it's free. All you'll need to bring is yourself, your pistola and 150 rounds of ammunition for the live-fire component.

Email me at jboch@gunssavelife.com

Offer is open to the first person to email or call me to snatch it up.

I'll email you a map with directions and a welcome letter for the lucky taker.

Hours:

Saturday and Sunday from 830am to 630pm.

Overnight accommodations are available at the camp for $25/person on Saturday evening.  It's a heated / cooled dorm cabin with bunk beds.  Bring your sleeping bag and pillow.  Modern restroom and kitchenette facilities.

George63 has taken me up on this less than an hour after it was posted.

The others that responded or others who may be interested, if you would like to come out as a role-player (and audit the valuable and insightful lectures), we've got plenty of space for you.

Thanks.

John
