Just wanted to let folks know that Rifleman's Weekend is coming up next month at River Bend Gun Club.  I know some of you have shot this event before, and it's great fun!  Matches take place on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22, and follow the format of the CMP Games matches, with all firing at 200 yards on the SR Highpower target, and using the 50 shot match course of fire (5 slow fire sighters, 20 shots slow fire prone, 10 shots rapid fire prone, 10 shots rapid fire sitting, and 10 shots standing).  There are matches for M1 Garands, Springfield 1903A3, Model 1917, and virtually all vintage military bolt action rifles.  There's even a vintage sniper match on Sunday which includes firing at moving targets.

This match is great fun, and I hope to see more Appleseeders there!  You can find more information on the River Bend Gun Club website here - http://rbgc.org/GarandMatch/mainPage.htm.
"The great body of our citizens shoot less as times goes on. We should encourage rifle practice among schoolboys, and indeed among all classes, as well as in the military services by every means in our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving peace in the world... The first step in the direction of preparation to avert war if possible, and to be fit for war if it should come is to teach men to shoot." -Theodore Roosevelt
