Shooters, center up!

You should have received most of this info via email or on the RBC Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/CaleraRBC/), but we're sharing it here as well!

1. Report time: Registration begins at 8am on Sunday morning with instruction promptly at 8:30. We will have an early registration on Saturday evening for those who are traveling in that night. We do not recommend you use Mapquest to get you to the range as it has taken some shooters to the wrong location. Waze & Google Maps are fine or use directions located here: http://appleseedinfo.org/search-states-location.php?locationid=556

2. Lodging: The instructors and a number of the students will be staying in the bunk house at the range. Please consider joining us! The range has bunk houses are available for both men and women. Includes bed, bedding, showers, and rec room. Grilling permitted on site with prior coordination. Cost is 30 dollars per night. Contact Kim at 205-368-2774 or doubletaptg@gmail.com No tent camping available on-site.

3. Cooking: The bunk house has a grill on-site (bring your own charcoal) and VERY limited refrigeration, so plan on bringing coolers, etc. There are no formal cooking facilities available.

4. Rifles & Ammo: You will need a centerfire rifle. A .22 rifle (e.g. Ruger 10/22) is optional, but encouraged. If you bring a 22LR rifle, please plan on bringing 500-600 rounds of ammo for it and an additional 500 rounds of ammo for your centerfire rifle. If you choose to only shoot centerfire, please plan on 1000-1100 rounds for the week. Bring oil, a cleaning kit, and tools to field strip your rifles & whatever spare parts you think you may need. We STRONGLY recommend you outfit your rifles with a cotton USGI sling and 1.25" swivels.

5. Optics: Project Appleseed is scope-friendly and iron-site friendly. Either is fine - bring what you have. Shooters using tactical red dot sights may experience greater challenges in the course.

6. What Else to Bring: See both links below. These lists are rather exhaustive, so before you make significant investments in gear for the RBC, please ask.

- 25m Appleseed Preparations: http://appleseedinfo.org/as_prepare.html
- RBC Specific Preparations: http://appleseedinfo.org/bc_whattobring.html

7. Weather preparations: Expect seasonal weather for Alabama: cool evenings & mornings, warm days, chance of rain. In Project Appleseed, we shoot snow, rain, or shine. We only cancel shooting for a day if the weather is hazardous - it rarely is. Pack appropriate clothing and rain gear, if necessary. The firing line is open-air. If you wish to bring a pop-up / EZ-up shelter in case of rain, please do.

8. Loaner equipment. Loaner rifles are available if you have someone who wishes to attend but does not have a rifle. Please contact me soonest.

9. General schedule of events:  Instruction will be approximately 8am every day.

Monday: meal on your own. AR-15 lower build class starts about 6:30-ish.
Tuesday: We are grilling out at DTTG. It's a pot-luck and shoot boss is going to bring the hot dogs & burgers.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
