There will be a 25 shooter cap and this will fill up quickly, if it isn't already filled. It will be a rimfire only event.

No charge, but please take a moment to read the club and range rules:

how do sign people up who aren't on the bulletin board or members.

They cross their heart and promise to show up.

Leave a post here if you do intend to attend; we have a cap and two teams of shooters from the MCRC are attending.

Maybe they should join up?  ;D

LayloPro

Well, Sam..... maybe they'll want to see what all this is "all about" first, before they commit to signing anything.....Talon has said before that the SC bunch are pretty reserved, & that's not really a bad thing......'cause when they get the gist of it, they will be the newest ambassadors....  8)

Tried an experiment this weekend....waited to fill in the email list until the -end- of the shoot, rather than the beginning..... had an improvement of 100% fill in because they had seen what we are about, & know we aren't a scam, or crazy, or any of the other stuff....we are -real-! Before, we would get about 30-40% of the new folks, then some might ask at the end of the AS to be on "the list"..... :-\

Talon, you, Bolt & Duane are getting it done 8) :o ;D....now Fred is gonna have to find another state to "clown bat on"..... :D :D ::)
Knew you guys could do it, just too much heritage going on in SC for -all- the folks to be glued to the sofa....... ;D
Congrats on setting up the shoot!! 8) 8) ;D

Passion them with the history!

Rock on, brothers!

I'd love to come, but there's an IBC happening in Toccoa the same weekend so I'm gonna go get an orange hat instead.  Hopefully this Mini Shoot is the pebble that starts the avalanche here in SC and I'll be able to put it to good use soon.

No problem, Thor. You'll do well at Toccoa.

"But it Will be Cold!"

Yep.

Camping is permitted for this event, Friday night, December 12th. Tent or vehicle.

RV slots: Four.

Water on site.

Restrooms on site.

Food: Bring with; the nearest restaurant/convenience store is 20 minutes away.

Contact me via PM if you intend to camp.

cannonman61

Headed up after work on Friday.

I hope it is not to cold as I plan to camp as well with Talon and Boltgun. Period dress is not optional.  ;D

What, if anything should I bring in the way of gear? Loaner LTRs? Targets? Let me know.

Been in a funk all week. Maybe this shoot will help shake it off.

Instructors/Attendees:

There is a Toys For Tots Pistol Match at the range the day of our shoot.

I'm asking each of you to bring something to donate, to be collected during our shoot. Let's get behind the MCRC effort to support Toys For Tots.

Talon

The slots are full. The line will be squeezed tight, so get ready to be cozy with your countrymen.

First come, first served. We're going to have to turn away shooters unless we can safely and efficiently run a relay.

Fair warning, to avoid a stampede :) Get there early or be disappointed!

Talon

I'm not kidding; if you're tracking this and plan to attend, you had better be there early and plan to shoot in relays.

Turning folks away is not what I want to have to do, but the relay cap is 40, and we've easily had twice the inquiries from MCRC.

See you all soon.

Bring Toys!

Talon

Tomorrow's the day at the MCRC. We hard start at 9:00 AM with classroom and history instruction, followed by a demonstration of historically accurate period rifles and muskets. Then, it's on to the Red Coat targets for some shooting and marksmanship instruction!

Key Points to remember:

1) .22 rimfire only. Don't side door me with an AR  ;)
2) Bring a toy for Toys for Tots.
3) The range will be packed. There's a IDPSA Toys for Tots match ongoing as well. Park in the lower, main parking lot. Someone will direct you to the hill top range. Don't bring a rifle immediately; come on up for the intros, then we'll address gear.
4) NO SIDEARMS at the Appleseed event. Please respect this rule. It is purely a safety issue.
5) We are subject to the Mid Carolina Range Rule range rules. They can be found by following the link provided:
    http://www.midcarolinarifleclub.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=24&Itemid=62
    please read them.

See you all soon; thank you to my Instructor friends who will be helping out.

A 'well done' is extended to the eleven shooters who braved the 24 degree morning to attend the Appleseed. The range was first rate, clean, and ready.

Congratulations to our own LM from MCRC, who shot a 245 out of a possible 250, without a sling for support.

Thank you to the staff of MCRC, who cut wood, shuttled targets, and came to the club at 9:25 PM to re-set the gate, which went down the evening before the shoot. We have a fine president and leader who leads by example and gets it done. All day at the range preparing (read: working his tail off) for the Toys for Tots, and he shows up to repair the gate after being at the range since 7:00 am Friday morning. Mr. MCRC President, any time you want to put the pistols down and push it out with the Riflemen, you're welcome to join us. You fit in.

Our Instructor crew was honored to serve the shooters who came to learn and participate, and did so with awareness and professionalism.

Silence, cannonman61, boltgun71, TAZdevil, DuaneRN, and Thor: Thanks for coming to pitch in.

We were pleased to collect a nice load of toys for the Toys for Tots program. AS got some good exposure to the Toys for Tots program; they sent over some freebies for the shooters. All left with a very cool LaRue Tactical Hat. O0

We'd be happy to do it all over again. Maybe next time, we'll be blessed with snow.

Everyone is invited.

Junior Birdman

OUTSTANDING!   O0   Congrats to LM! Probably coulda shot 300 with a sling, right?  ;)  Thanks and congratulations to the dedicated Instructors who did such a great service to the project!

O0 Thanks for getting AS foot in the door in SC, with the mini. Can't wait to get to go to a full AS. Thanks to all the instructors who took the time to individually help the kids.
