 Older thread, back when I shot for the score I used a Marlin 880 sq model, since replaced by the XT series 22lr. It looks like it isn't available currently but it could be down the road, we hope.

I got mine used, so I don't know what the last MFSP was the last time on the XT, I would think less than a good quality imported sporter and it shot very well.

The 880sq could shoot MOA with Eley standard at 100 yds. CCI standard did about 1.5 MOA. I tried others also, none were bad.

Savage B22 is a great option. I've got a mkii and a B22 in left hand, but when it came time to pick one for a shoot the B22 was the clear choice. Better magazines and a more fluid bolt throw on the B22.

It's pricey but I love my Volquartsen Summit straight pull .22. Next best thing to a semi auto. It is incredibly accurate.
