Sim is a rock star if this is who I think it is! We had an awesome event last weekend. Only six folks but 5 patches went out and four of them it was their first patch. And in Sim's case his shooting was on point!
I can firmly state that a bolt action is a challenge but should not be a deterrence to anyone. I shot rifleman with it and finally got a distinguished patch which was my goal for the weekend.

That was me! My main regret that weekend was that I set up on the wrong side of the firing line to watch you rack that bolt. Congrats on the distinguished score and the orange hat!

Thanks man! It's definitely a whole different experience using a manual action rifle. I hope to hear that you are in the 200 yard known distance event next!!

Haven't been to a shoot in a while. Shot 234 with irons for my distinguished patch Sept 12-13 2020.
Gotta bring my daughters to a shoot soon.

Question, I'm not a member yet, but would like to do that so I'm eligible to put my name in the hat for an M14 with CMP. Do I need to participate in another shoot in addition to registering for membership?

Got my patch this past weekend, August 15th and 16th in Old Fort NC. Shot a 211, hoping to improve that at my next couple events, maybe even start knocking on a distinguished patch.

Tar Heel

Woo hoo! That was a well-earned patch in the humid heat after a pounding rain and thunderstorm.

We're so glad to have you on board as a new instructor in training! Official announcement incoming soon with photos...

The Old Fort event was on my list to attend this year but wasn't able to make it out that way. Congrats on the rifleman patch. Distinguished isn't easy but it is certainly achievable! I've done it with a scoped bolt gun and semi auto. A number of my Appleseed buddies have shot distinguished as well, you just really need to have your NPOA dialed in and not make mistakes during the course of fire! You can do it, keep practicing and you'll get there.
