Kalicoontie Rod and Gun Club welcomed Project Appleseed for the third and final event of 2014.

Fourteen students joined us for the weekend, we had a good mix of both veteran, and first time Appleseeders.

Saturdays cool temperature and the threat rain did not deter our students. Everyone stayed focused, listening instruction, and then applying it at the firing line.

Sunday brought some new challenges, mostly in the form of wind . We had sustained 5-10 mile per hour wind whith some really strong gusts. Fortunatly they were zero value, unfortunatly it played havoc with the target line. The entire line was wiped out twice, even after considerable reenforcing, all hands pitched in and we got back up and running.

Students and Instructors both persisted and scores climbed throughout the day.

We had Three Young Patriots that persisted throughout the Weekend, despite the difficult weather

Stephen O0, Cameron O0, and James O0, Great Job!

We had One New Rifleman, Robert :~

We had some Requalifing Rifleman,  Rob :~ , Craig :~ ,and Chuck :~, Great Work!

Craig also took First place in the Sunday afternoon Cheez- It  drill.

Thanks to my Insructors, Viet Vet, Spock951, DEKE, kimbers and longrange! Great Job! And Keep up the Good Work!

Speaking of Insructors, Please join me in Welcoming DEKE, New Yorks Newest Orange Hat!  O0

DEKE also stepped up and saved the day with a pair of bolt cutters on a pesky stuck cable lock :)

What a windy weekend! It was nice meeting new shooters and seeing returning ones.  Thank you Kalicoontie Rod n Gun Club for having us and  providing lunch both days.

VietVet

Had a great weekend at the Kalicoontie Rod n Gun Club. Special thanks to the club for their hospitality.

Thanks to all involved in this "WINDYSEED"!

Shooters and Instructors really hung in there. I'm going into my sixth year doing Appleseed Events and by far this was the windiest Event I've ever been at and like most I've done Shoots in just about every weather condition possible.

Congrats to our new Rifleman Robert.  O0

Congrats to ALL the Shooters who managed to stay standing in that wind. It was unbelievable. Watching them shooting the first stage of the AQT was entertaining. The wind presented a challenge for sure.
Yes, as Grumpy1 said it was a zero value wind on the rounds going down range but surely a "Full Value Wind" on the Shooters try to maintain a steady position, especially while standing.

.....ummmmm I'd recalculate that!  ;)

Thanks again and well done all.

.....ummmmm I'd recalculate that!

Ok maybe it was closer to 20-30 with 40mph gusts! :)

It was tough to estimate after my wind meter blew away!
