It was a great day in Roswell GA on Saturday. 16 shooters showed up for what I believe was Georgia's first ever indoor Appleseed shoot! The Sharpshooters range in Roswell had outstanding accommodations and their hospitality was no less remarkable. It was a bit of a luxury to be shooting without a care about the heat outside or impending storms that were in the area. Hopefully, this venue will be on the GA schedule consistently in the near future.

After checking in Saturday morning and going through our safety briefing the shooters and instructors  made our way to the 8 lane shooting bay that was reserved for us. After the first Redcoat target and shooters scrounging for a long sleeve shirt or extra layer of clothing (did I mention that the A/C was working properly?) we proceeded with the teaching modules for the pillars of marksmanship and begun these anxious shooters down the path of becoming riflemen!

At lunchtime we retired to the classroom, which was also set aside for us for the entire day, and heard the first two Strikes of the Match which set ablaze the flames of liberty for Revolution by our Founders. We then returned to the line to continue shrinking the target groups on those 1" squares. The mid afternoon break brought us the Third Strike of the Match and then back to the line. Since we were shooting in relays, we condensed some of the teaching modules to assure time enough to squeeze in one AQT before the last Redcoat target of the day. A number of shooters turned in very respectable scores and Randy turned in a 213! Huzzah!!! Congratulations rifleman!

We closed out our wonderful day in the classroom with awards to the five young shooters in attendance and presented our rifleman with his well-earned patch. Thank you shooters for making this event a joy to be a part of. Thank you fellow instructors for making this event such an easy job to Shoot Boss.

Remember the 7th Step! I hope to see everyone on the line again soon and with others in tow. Let's sell out the rest of the events in GA!!

The day began with the assembling of the line in truly the finest
"weather" conditions I have ever experienced...

Dr John and LtK demonstrating the fundamentals of the prone position...

Ray and General Stuart analyzing the results and learning what they mean...

Dr John sharing the fine art of interpreting the target data in his "talking targets" segment...

Shooters return from the target line with the information their targets shared with them!

Shoot Boss taking in the scenery and securing evidence that it does not rain at every event...

The illustrious Roswell modeling a seated position variant while '76 Patriot enumerates the steady hold factors...

Patrick and others putting it into practice!!!

Sheri is being coached on the seated position...

Ray working diligently on his steady hold factors!

Sarah is in her bubble and putting it all into practice!

Spectators and future "blue hats"!  Gretchen  (who is an orange hat herself) kindly took care of our kids and her little one so that my bride "Fabricator's Gal" could hone her marksmanship skills; THANKS!!

We had a great turnout by our posterity; appropriate commendations were provided with the Luther Blanchard patch!!! Huzzahh!!!

Randy showed that he knows very much what he is about with a score of 213; great work sir!!!

The worst part of the day was packing up and leaving!!! Ramsey was kind enough to help stow geat in the Shoot Boss's truck with his buddy Hannah.

We also have a new BLUE HAT to announce, though I was handing it to her and did not obtain a picture.  Congratulations to "Fabricator's Gal" for stepping up!   If anyone has a picture, please post!

The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles.

What, no dirt to lay in? ;D

Looks like a great shoot and a very nice venue.

WOW! You could get used to that kind of venue. No heat in June?

Huzzah on a great first shoot.
