Hopewell Junction, NY June 21 & 22, 2014
« on: June 22, 2014, 11:24:35 PM »
On a very hot and sunny Saturday morning in June, a group of Americans gathered together in Hopewell Junction, NY. They all may have had very different expectations of what an Appleseed Event was and what it would mean to them in the future. For some it was a new experience and for others it was a treasured time to be enjoyed again. They came in small groups, some friends with friends; some were parents with their children and some grandparents with their grandchildren. The class varied from the younger to the older, lads and ladies of all ages. Whatever their expectations, they shared the experience as a group. Perhaps all were strangers in many respects but, after sharing hours of instruction, sunburns, warm water, skinned elbows, sore knees, aching backs and blistered fingers, they walked away as one. In each now beat the common heart of a RIFLEMAN.

Please share some of their journey with them:

Another Great Weekend fori Appleseed!

Thank You To Whortekill Rod and Gun Club for their continued support, and  Thank You to John, a club member, and liasion, for all the help throughout the Event!

10 Students Joined us on the this weekend, coworkers, friends, familys, we had a great mix of both new and previous Appleseeders. The weather was Awesome, maybe a little Hot, but the students didn't complain. Our medical officer Ryan,  ~~:) continually reminded students to drink on every break, to avoid dehydration and heat exaustion! Thank You; Ryan

Scores continued to climb throughout the weekend, and by Sunday afternoon, we had some return Rifleman :---, and a New Rifleman. :---

Pam, requalified multiple times O0 ( sorry i don't have the scores :'(, due to a technical problem)

Gunny, requalified at least once or twice, just a few more patches for the quilt!

Bill also reqalified,on Sunday Afternoon O0

Ryan a new Rifeman,   :~ shot a 225, he also cleared The Afternoon Red Coat, plus he won the Cheez- It drill :~

O0 Nice Job! To all our Rifleman! O0

We were also joined by Our newest Young Patriot, Zack, O0 who persited through the entire two days, despite burning his elbows on the Mat. Thank You Zack, you our this Countrys Future!

Jack continued through the days, working on fundamental, and watching his scores climb. Jack cranked thru rapid fire AQTs with his bolt action, then re aquiring his NPOA, it was a difficult skill !@#), but, your knocking at the door, and keep practicing.

James, and Jon persisted, by working on fundamentals and learning new skills, continue practicing, work on dry fire drills.

Brian, who brought his Grandson, Zack O0 , continued throughout the days watching his skills improve!
