Another D.O.M.

The second Appleseed event held at Coxsackie Sportsmen's Club in Coxsackie, NY turned out to be a very well attended and productive weekend.

The weather was typical of April weather in upstate NY:  chilly, windy and wet.  Despite this, our students showed up eager to learn and apply what they were being taught.

Skills improved dramatically throughout the weekend, and we finished on Sunday with one first-time attendee shooting a 218 on one of his AQTs.

I'd like to thank the host range for providing their facilities to our students and instructors.  And thanks to the insturctors (Grumpy1 and longrange).

Congratulations and a huge thank you go to Pam (kimbers on the forum) for accepting the responsibilities of Applecore volunteer.  I know that Pam will be a fantastic addition to our Appleseed staff and an enormous asset in the growth of Project Appleseed in the Mid-Hudson River Valley region of NY.

Pictures (most taken by our new Applecore volunteer on Sunday) and additional comments should be forthcoming shortly.

This is an excellent program!  I had never been taught the proper use of a sling nor the in depth events that led up to the American Revolution.  Our event was run by 3 terrific gentlemen who not only knew how to make things interesting and easy to understand but they also took their time to ensure that everyone was grasping the information whether it was historical or marksman based.  And above all they kept it safe!  My fellow shooters were great, they stuck it out through the rain and cold. Our Applecore volunteer on Sunday was awesome and will be a great asset to the Appleseed project.

Attached is a photo of my 218 shot with a brand new Marlin 795 with tech sights.  I am extremely proud of this and couldn't have done it without this program.  Shooting is more fun when you have a goal!

This was my first Appleseed but it won't be my last, thank you guys

Coxsackie is a wonderful place to hold an Appleseed Event.

It sounds like Another D.O.M. has again gathered together a fine collection of patriots to remember and reflect upon the events in our early heritage.

Very few people do manage to fire a Rifleman level score at their first Appleseed and a 218 AQT is FANTASTIC!!!

Congratulations RIFLEMAN Gimo925!!!!!

And congratulations to Pam for accepting the Blue Hat. And yes, you are a super addition to the team!!!! And folks you should also realize that this fine lady has her own personal collection of Rifleman awards!!!

Congratulations to RIFLEMAN Blue Hat Pam.

Instructors Grumpy1 and longrange are the finest in the Appleseed system.

Good Job!!!!

This was an Awesome Appleseed!

A Big Thank You to the Coxsackie Sportsmans Club, for sponsering another Appleseed.

Thank You, to our Shoot Boss Another D.O.M., and my fellow instructors longrange and Kimbers.

Typical April weather was the norm for going from partly sunny, to mostly rainy on and off for the entire weekend. Despite the sometimes gloomy weather, our Shooters spirits remained High, and enthusiasum never faultered. Students  eagerly listened to the History and asked Questions about the sacrifices, after Dangerous Old Men and Women each student was givin a playing card and asked to read it aloud.

One of our students,  Theresa told us about her 11 year old Grandaughter who carrys a pocket Constitution, at school, and is not afraid to quote from it. This was Great, I cannot wait to see this young lady at an Appleseed, and Theresa said we definitly would O0

Congratulations to our newest Rifleman Gimo925 with a 218 O0

Thank you to Kimbers for stepping up O0 , We really can use the help.
