Wow what a great weeknd we had for the first AS event at the Chehalem Valley Sportsman Club in Dundee, OR.   We have a great group of shooters and they shot very well on their first AQT of the weekend.  With the continued coaching that will come on Sunday, I expect to be awarding number of rifleman patches.

The range is right in the middle of the wine country in North Oregon and is surrounded by vineyards.   The is a sold out event and hopefully will lead to more great event at this range.

I would like to thanks all the shooters and instructors that came out to CVSC this last weekend and made the first event a bang up success.  I would like to thank Dan and Mike for working with Board and convincing them that AS is a worthwhile program to have at the range.   Due to the success of this event, we have been invited to submit additional dates for more events this year!

I would like to congratulate our 4 new Rifleman; Jonathan, Russ, Garrett and Travis.   I knew that I was going to be handing out patches this weekend as we reviewed the AQT scores from Saturday.   I would also like to congratulate Jeff for re-confirming his rifleman score by shooting multiple rifleman scores in the 220s.   Huzzah, Huzzah, Huzzah.

I would like to thank Mike for cooking lunch for us both days on that great mesquite fired BBQ you brought to the range.   Even though Mike is already a Rifleman, he chose to be our cook for the weekend and was also very helpful in getting the range set up for the event.

We had a few shooters knocking on the door, and I am sure with a little practice, we will soon be presenting Rifleman patches to those shooters.

We had 8 youth participate in the event this weekend.   I got to witness some great marksmanship from all of the youth shooters and I am confident they will all be receiving their patches soon.

Had a great time sold out the shoot had a great group of instructors this weekend three orange hats two red hats and a green hat. Everyone got down and dirty in the dust. Shooters did awesome had lots of observers watching and some members show up briefly. Weather was perfect not to cold or hot had clear sky the whole time.

Congrats to our 4 new Rifleman  :--- :--- and just to point out we had lots of Youth on the line which was great everyone improved and learned something new

I'm amazed at Blaine he did an outstanding job he knows what improvise adapted and overcome was all about he shoot a high score of 191 he had only one hand but he did everything standing transitions it was so awesome to see him out there  O0

I had a great time this weekend, even though three applications of SPF 45 during the day didn't keep me from burning.  What is this strange "sun" thing, again?  I was very happy to see four new rifleman made at this event, they all worked hard for it.  There are several more waiting in the wings from this group, hopefully we'll have another event at this range soon!

Beautiful weekend.  Great group of shooters to work with. Excellent lunches!  There were a number of shooters with high AQT scores Sunday afternoon.  I encourage you all to take a look at the packet of information you got.  There is a sheet in there titled "Do Your Home Work".  In my experience dry fire practice really works!

Hope to see you all at another Appleseed.
