Hello everyone,

I just wanted to put out a well deserved but belated shout out to the Maryland Instructors for volunteering their valuable time to putting on a awesome Appleseed. I'm brand new to the appleseed's and I've been lucky enough to attend the January and February events.

The appleseed experience was a great eye opening and heartwarming experience. Our American heritage and history isn't taught to the full potential it should be in schools. Learning about the three strikes and all the sacrifices that were made by our founding Americans really emboldens you to get off the couch and get involved. I get involved as much as I can with the politics where I live in Kalifornia, even I have a lot of room to grow and commit more time to "bailing the ship" so to speak.

I came into the Appleseed shoots with very basic knowledge from hunting and self taught skills. With all the hard work and great teaching skills by everyone at the MD appleseeds my shooting skills have improved drastically. I was able to earn a winterseed patch in January and get my red coats dialed in.

I initially wanted to attend a appleseed to see if it was the right atmosphere and mindset to expose my wife and her sister who's young and new to shooting. Not only did the appleseed's fit the bill to the T being a great event to expose them to, I enjoy going to them myself and plan on attending more.

Sorry for the long and drawn out post, just wanted to give a shout out to all the great work everyone's doing and wanted to let everyone involved know I truly appreciate it! My knowledge and skills have a long way togo so you can count on seeing me again at another appleseed down the road!

Well said! I saw a mention of Project Appleseed in an online shooting article a little over a year ago and signed up for my first event in Maryland in February 2013.

Although I came with high expectations, I was impressed with the knowledge and dedication of the volunteers from RWVA. Spreading the word is probably the best "Thank you!" we can give.
