"Our forefathers gave us a better way to refresh the Tree of Liberty. If we give our blood and sweat now,  willingly, by using the political and social processes they secured for us with their lives, maybe our own Posterity will never have to unwillingly spill their blood and tears to re-secure their Liberty. Saturday was great as far as shooting, but Sunday ended up as a train wreck with a lot of mechanical difficulties. I'm still happy with my AQT with a rifle I just finished building a stock for  as well as cleaning the redcoats!

I feel somewhat vindicated today. I brought out my Savage 64 that was giving me grief in February and my stepdaughter trouble in January, and it fired perfectly. I've ruled out the ammo and gun that caused the issues, so I am down to weather and possibly sling tension (long shot) that caused the issues. I say sling tension since it is a synthetic stock and very flexible. You can see it flex when you get into position so I'm wondering if it may have been affecting the action, although it's a long shot though. Leaning toward weather causing issues with rifle/ammo combo.

Cold can play havoc on operation.
Down to about 15-20 I use Rem Oil on anything that rotates and Lubriplate on anything that slides.
From there down to about -10 I use Gunslick.
Below that I run it dry.

I was using Remoil in Janurary, then some One Shot which helped a little bit. February I used One Shot and had the same issues. Yesterday it was just One Shot again, but 40 degrees warmer!
