We had arrangements with a national woman shooting group to have a private shoot. We made arrangements to have half the women instructors of Florida attend and do most of the heavy lifting. Several of the women instructors traveled half way across the state and didn't arrive in Tallahassee until after 11:30 pm Friday night.

No students showed up. My reaction (in my head) was to first chew depleted Uranium and them hunt the down. The women's reaction let's have a mini IBC!

So that's what we did we covered topics that were of concern to the women, IMC and others. Plus some subjects that don't normally get covered like the history of flags. Then they got down to some serious shooting. They all requalified, most shooting 240 or better on the AQT, shoot like a girl, if you can! I told them what Col. Jeff Cooper would have said if he had inspected their targets. "If you can shoot that good, shoot faster." They are scary good!

Then there's the rest of the story:  for something that will probably never be duplicated at an Appleseed event! A marriage proposal between two IIT's on the Isaac Davis Memorial Range.  TomM1Thumb gave a family heirloom ring to DeadEyeRed see picture for proof. Those already married who witnessed the proposal were as moved and teary eyed as Teresa. Congratulations and well done.

Great new firing line shelter, liberty pole, fire ring, and hawk throwing range thanks to the Jefferson Long Rifle group  In addition to the other activities of the weekend, The Lady IITs helped Lori plant some trees in the honor of Issac Davis who, after all, was also a farmer.

It was a lovely setting for a proposal. Congratulations Tom & Teresa.

Have u gotten any comm from the "National Women's Shooting Group" as to why they failed to show?

I initially contacted the leader of this group mid last year. This person met Lori at the local Wal-Mart. Lori as usual was wearing her Appleseed shirt they talked. After numerous back and forth's I got no commitment. Then several months later I got an email from Bullet that the same leader of local group wanted to attend an Appleseed?   My first response was "what the heck"? She knew me had my contact info why was a request coming from Bullet? She claimed she would "fill the line" we arranged a date. Last week it was four women and a couple of husbands. Disappointed but I gave my word.

We called the leaders home range trying to track her down, after the no show. The range stated that she and her husband were in Vegas at the SHOT show.
