You bet! NHale has gotten a private property owner to offer us access to a very beautiful spot near frostproof Florida. The property owner has created a new range just for us that goes out past 600 yards. The date will be February 1st and 2nd, with arrival permitted Friday afternoon / evening. There is a classroom, plenty of space for camping, bathroom and a beautiful lake. NHale has all the details.

I will be instructing this known distance event, intended for existing Appleseed instructors - IIT0 and up. It will begin with a class session on Saturday morning discussing advanced marksmanship techniques and then move out to the range where all of the instructors will be afforded an opportunity to qualify at full distance. Once we have completed our full distance AQT, we will engage reactive targets (steel sils).

I need to get a headcount as there are only ten slots available on the line (plenty of room for some extra campers) - first come / first serve. This event is offered as a reward for service to the program and also as a chance to improve our personal marksmanship, thereby improving our ability to instruct on the line at events.

I'd love to be there, but unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to make it that weekend. 

By any chance is there still going to be the other KDC in May (I think it was going to be at Malabar) that people were talking about doing a while back?

If everyone who has responded shows up - yes. As there is more room for campers - I suppose we could have standbys to make certain we do fill the line, but that is strictly up to you Sir.

Thank you sir. Consider it officially capped for that date then. I will need to pm a couple folks on the list to get their emails for more specific directions, etc.

This should be a really nice time and if we do it right, I'm hoping we will get repeat invitations.

If you missed out on this opportunity, well, you missed out on a really great and educational weekend. Eric (ItsanSKS) was in Florida and lent his considerable expertise to the fine art of rifle marksmanship instruction. It was great to see him again and like always, every time he teaches I learn something new. Discovering firsthand what you and your rifle will do at a quarter mile is priceless and I cannot wait to do it again. We have a couple of private ranges now where KD clinics are feasible and doing at least a couple of these during the next year is a high priority goal. Now, who is interested?

We have two possibilities for an instructor KDC. If we ask nice, I believe we could get a return to the Frostproof location. Great locale for about 8 shooters, shooting in relays. But--500+ yards! The other location might be the Big 3 Hunt Club. Again, fairly limited width to the long distance range but with relays, we should be able to handle 8 or so. I will inquire. If we can come up with an agreeable time, we can figure out where. Suggestions anyone?
