SACRAMENTO, CA OCT 19-20

What a fun weekend.....

10 Americans came out to enjoy the wonderful Sacramento Valley Shooting Center and the gorgeous weather.

Saturday started out as usual with the safety briefing, first Red Coat, then, the fire hose was turned on.  These shooters listened and applied what they learned.  We had a few returning Appleseeders and they really showed that the knowledge was in there....

We stopped for lunch and eaglescouter, Missy, Melissa and Cavalier2233 did the strikes, doing their usual fine job. Thank you to Joey for playing the White Cockade on his fiddle for us!

After lunch we finished up the rest of the instruction and proceeded to the AQT's.  No rifleman scores that day.  Finished up with the Red Coat.

Sunday was a repeat of Saturday weatherwise...clear blue skies, the occasional light wind.

6 folks returned to take on Sunday's review and AQT's.

We stopped for lunch and the telling of the DOM's and Dames.  Josh (aka 91lirpa) did a great job telling us about Luther Blanchard.

Duncan put it all together after lunch and posted a 214, then a 210.  Our only Rifleman and well deserved.

We finished up with the Red Coat and benediction.

Thank you to all the instructors who came out and made it happen.

Great job to PinBreaker in his first Shoot Boss in Training....

Shooters...keep working and you'll get there....you really will. See ya  next time.

Thanks to all of you instructors/friends. We had a great time again! You really do a fantastic job. After listening to me at work one of my friends has already signed up for the December Appleseed & I'm working on more.
PS...Donna gave me the go-ahead to order "our" first M1 Garand. Put CMP form in the mail yesterday.  O0

Still feeling that "Appleseed Glow!!"  :cool2:

Thanks again to all our participants!! We enjoyed being able to work with you for the weekend, and watch as you implemented all the things we taught you. There's a LOT that goes into rifle marksmanship, but two of the main ingredients are persistence, and a learning attitude--and we saw it in all of you.

A big congrats again to Duncan for making Rifleman!! We knew you'd do it if you came back again soon. We're so excited to hear you'll have a Garand to work with soon--feel free to bring it out to another event--we'd love to see it!!

And as always, it was an honor and joy working with my fellow instructors. Awesome weekend!!

Hope to see you all back out at the range again soon.

Best always,
Linda (Ducky)
Freedom, in a political context, means freedom from government coercion. It does not mean freedom from the landlord, or freedom from the employer, or freedom from the laws of nature which do not provide men with automatic prosperity. It means freedom from the coercive power of the state, and nothing else.--Ayn Rand

This was our first Appleseed but certainly not the last. Thanks to all you instructors, you were all great. Next time we will have a better mat, elbow pads, and improved triggers in the Rugers. I also ordered an M1 Garand from the CMP, and it has shipped.
