Did Ruger just invent the perfect bolt action LTR?

I didn't have any trouble shooting a Rifleman score with my American Rimfire either (I'm not inexperienced, though), so it certainly can be done.  If I recall, I saved a round on one or maybe both of the rapids (it was some months back), but as we all know 9 good shots are much better than 10 poor shots.

Like some others, I found the accuracy of this rifle to be unimpressive.  It shoots as well if not slightly better than my 10/22's for accuracy, but for a bolt action rifle that's not stellar, especially when compared to other bolt action .22's out there.  I do really like the trigger, though, and the adjustable stock is pretty cool.
"The great body of our citizens shoot less as times goes on. We should encourage rifle practice among schoolboys, and indeed among all classes, as well as in the military services by every means in our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving peace in the world... The first step in the direction of preparation to avert war if possible, and to be fit for war if it should come is to teach men to shoot." -Theodore Roosevelt

The point of the thread was to look at the RAR as the best out of the box LTR, not necessarily the best bolt action .22 rifle. The combination of the convertible stock and 10/22 magazine makes it a good contender. When/if Ruger comes up with a RAR with the peep and post sights like the 10/22 Contest Winning rifle then it might even be better.
