For anyone attending or considering this shoot, here's an idea of what's going to happen:

Overview

Since this is one day only, and a short day at that, it's going to be all about shooting beyond 25 meters.  This is for AS 'veterans' only, so we will not be reviewing marksmanship basics, but jumping straight into trajectories, come-ups, etc.

We have a 200 yard range available, and we will be setting it up for both centerfire and rimfire 'known distance' (KD) AQTs.  Centerfires will shoot stages at 100 yards (standing), 200 yards (sitting), 75 and 100 yards (scaled targets for prone stages.)  Rimfires will be shooting at 25, 50, 75, and 100 for their stages, all on scaled targets.

Known distance shooters will have priority on the line space and target backers.  We haven't needed relays at previous shoots here, but we do have fast-swap target backers so we can run them quickly if necessary.  If - and only if - there's both space on the line and extra 25m target backers - those who want can 'grind' on their QDAQT scores at 25m.

I will be contacting registered shooters in advance to find out their intent so I can make up a plan for target frame placement.  Shooters will be expected to help set up and tear down.  We will ask shooters to arrive by 7:30AM to assist, we will start the program at 8AM, and must be off the range, with trash and brass policed, by 4PM.

If you have them, please bring spotting scopes and wind gauges.

Hi

which ones " post AQT silhouettes" are you using?

Nero

The 'scaled' AQT stages will be the "Advanced AQT" targets (essentially 'stage 1' from the QDAQT).  For the 100 yard and 200 yard center fire stages we're using the big D-25 (?) targets that have only the 4 and 5 rings.

(And just to make things more entertaining for the instructors, that means we will be scoring rimfire KD as 200/250 to qualify, with a 30 cal rule, and centerfire by a 80% 'hits count' rule, with stages 3 and 4 having a 30 cal rule, and stages 1 and 2 not.   :wb: )
