Another excellent event at American Institute of Marksmanship, where we had 19 great Americans turn out on Saturday, and 8 on Sunday, to learn about their history, heritage and rifle marksmanship.  I will keep my comments brief so I can get this posted and let others add their thoughts.

Special congratulations to:
Kerry- for shooting his first Rifleman score (210).  Kerry, at his third event,  showed great persistence, and it paid off.  Thank you also for "taking good care of the children" and bringing your daughter Megan.  And thank you for taking the Blue Hat!
Megan- who was shooting 6 MOA groups early on Saturday!  Megan joined the "hot brass tattoo club" from a case that got got trapped under her elbow pad, but she kept the muzzle in a safe direction and grounded the rifle during her protestations.  Well done Megan.
Donny- for coming oh-so-close with a 207.
Mack- for having a teachable attitude, learning and applying information quickly, and shooting a 200 with a bolt gun!
Angel- for having GOALS and jumping her scores progressively at every event until hitting the 170's this weekend!
Tim- for re-qualifying with his AR by shooting a 233 and shooting a PERFECT 100 ON STAGE 4!  Also, thank you for taking the Orange Hat!  HUZZAH!

Special thanks to:
John- for your service to our country in Vietnam.
The instructor crew- Chuck, Jim, Emily, Jay, Sam and Tristan.  You made my job easy.  Thank you Jim, Jay and Sam for your service to our country.
Eric Dean- for being such a pleasant and hospitable range host.  And thank you for your past on ongoing service to our country.

Thanks to each and every participant for coming out this weekend.

An RWVA Instructor would be happy to come and speak to your club or group and present the Three Strikes.  We call these non-shooting events Libertyseeds.  Here is the website for more information: www.libertyseed.org. You may use the site to request a Libertyseed event, join the RWVA or make a donation.

I have been informed by people in the know in Frankfort that when the the capitol switchboard gets 1 telephone call for or against a certain issue, they multiply that by 14,000!  That's about the same as the number of militia that turned out by April 20, 1775!  And this is for the little ol' state of Kentucky.  Imagine what multiplier they use when you call Washington, DC!  You can be an army of one simply by voicing your concerns and opinions to your lawmakers!

It was a glorious weekend for a shoot with sunny weather and great shooters. I want to thank you all for making my first event as an IIT a great time. Congratulations to our new rifleman and to Tim and Kerry for taking an orange and blue hat. A good time was had by all.

MOLON LABE

Again this organization pulls off another great event - Though I got a 207 - my pride will not allow me to take a blue hat because I am worth an orange one... I had a great time - Like clockwork I had an equipment failure, thanks to locktight red I will not have another one... nor will I ever get that scope base off.... but after day one I was able to shoot to my best even if I am my own worst enemy - If I were to offer a suggestion I would offer only 1, during the lunch break build in time to wipe down and clean the rifles to at least a field standard - I know this may sound like a cop out, I do feel that a clean rifle shoots better than a dirty one - towards the end of both days I noticed some groups opening up, I know it was hot and we were fatigued if only for the ability not to blame the equipment (not that I am guilty of that) I would be greatful to have the ability to run a bore snake and re lube my rifle about half way though the day. I will practice, practice, practice so that I can improve to at least a 211... we all saw what happens at 210.... Thank you to to volunteers that showed up for their time and more importantly thank you to the parents and grandparents that brought out the youth in their families, by doing that they have taken a personal responsibility in keeping liberty alive in our country.

Molon Labe I feel you'll get your Riflemans patch on the next one. You're so close. You have the most important aspect which is a teachable attitude and a strong sense of persistence. I had a few requests for the link to our downloadable targets for dry fire practice so here it is. http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=3710.0
Remember dry fire practice is free. get your steady hold factors, remember the 6 steps to firing a shot, and practice, practice, practice.

Molon Labe,

Nobody personally knows more about equipment issues than yours truly, so I know where you are coming from.  At your next shoot, if you want to shoot some CLP or other lube into your action, prep period would be the perfect time to do that.  A bore snake might be accommodated too if necessary, just be sure to ask the Line Boss first.

Ironhead gave good advice.  Just be absolutely sure you have no live ammo in the same room, and all other safety rules apply.  Next time will be the charm!
