Eastern Nebraska shooting complex to be open

LOUISVILLE, Neb. (AP) -- The Roger G. Sykes Outdoor Heritage Education Complex at Platte River State Park is scheduled to be open this week.  The complex includes a 60-yard archery range, an indoor pellet gun range, a 50-yard rim-fire rifle range and a trap range. The complex has instructors who can provide assistance, and there is equipment available.  People who bring their own weapons must bring their own ammunition. Guns must be in cases and ammunition stored separately when entering the complex. The complex is scheduled to be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday this week. The park is in Cass County, about a mile southeast of South Bend off Nebraska Highway 66. A park entry permit is required.
