We need volunteers in sales, marketing, PR, IT, and general "running of an organization."
Maximize your Appleseed energy to make this program grow, and help fill the empty spots
on the firing line!  An hour of time spent at this level can have the impact of ten or a
hundred hours on the firing line.  Want to help? Send a PM to Monkey!

Weather-wise, our last Appleseed of 2012 at KCR was very much like our first; cold, damp and windy.  Nevertheless, 20 fine AMERICANS came out on Saturday to learn more about their heritage and the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship.  14 shooters returned on Sunday along with 1 new walk-on.   -:) HUZZAH! -:)

We had one re-qualifying Rifleman, Rik, who shot a personal best of 228!  First-time attendee Jon was knocking on the door with a 206!   O0  We also had a couple shooters in the 190's, which I believe included first-time attendee Teresa!

However, the best part of this 'seed was the MARKED improvement between the Saturday AM and Sunday AM Redcoat targets:

Saturday AM
100 = 30%
200 = 10%
300 = 5%
400 = 0%
250HS = 10%

Sunday AM
100 = 67%
200 = 27%
300 = 33%
400 = 27%
250HS = 20%

An Rx for all attendees:

Lots of dry fire practice, by the numbers, making sure to go through your Steady Hold Factors. Practice finding and shifting your NPOA.
Practice Inches Minutes and Clicks.
Attend another Appleseed and bring at least 2 new people with you.

Isaiah, thanks for spending your birthday with us.  Thanks to each and every one of you for participating!  Thanks to Slugger 05, yellowhousejake, Niecie and boadicea for stepping up to help!   O0

Everyone is invited to post here about your Appleseed experience.  Long live Liberty!

P.S.
Remember that the last Kentucky Appleseed of 2012 will be a special 3-day event at Crittenden where we will shoot 25 meters on Friday and out to 300 meters on Saturday and Sunday.  Information can be found here:

Also, we have some exciting NEW venues and events coming for 2013 including an INDOOR Appleseed in Lexington in January, a LADYSEED in March in Cave City, and, Lord willing, several 500 meter Known Distance events!

For Liberty, each Freeman Strives
As its a Gift of God
And for it willing yield their Lives
And Seal it with their Blood

Thrice happy they who thus resign
Into the peacefull Grave
Much better there, in Death Confin'd
Than a Surviving Slave

This Motto may adorn their Tombs,
(Let tyrants come and view)
"We rather seek these silent Rooms
Than live as Slaves to You"

Isaiah had a great birthday.  As for the jamming issue on Sunday, upon cleaning of the rifle, I discovered sand.  Boy was digging the muzzle into the berm and then dropping sand down into the action whenever he picked it upright to put his sling back on.

As for myself, I'm getting tired of falling short.

We had a great time in Kentucky this past weekend and what an amazing place to shoot! Thank you to all the shooters that attended in spite of the bone-chillin' wind! We had 6 youth shooters on the line Saturday and not one complaint from them - how awesome is that?

Thanks go to Unbridled Liberty for all the hard work you have put into the program for KY - we do appreciate ALL your effort! And we are inspired by all of the cool gadgets you build to make things run smoother - we will be stealing these for our own use soon  :bow:

Extra special thanks to Slugger 05 for stepping up to take a Blue hat and the work you put into this event. It was a pleasure to meet and work with you and I look forward to you "crossin' the line" to visit us in IN (mmmm Liberty Bars  >:D )

Here are some photos of the weekend,

See ya all on the trail!
