We had another great weekend at the Muscatatuck Christian Ranch in North Vernon, IN.  This was a new range for us this year and our hosts have always provided a great venue and a fantastic time.  We had a wonderful mix of Appleseed first-timers and returnees who braved the forecasts of bad weather and got together for a great weekend of marksmanship instruction and learning about the sacrifices of our forefathers.  While we didn't quite get any new Riflemen, we still saw tremendous improvement as our shooters applied the lessons of the six steps and NPOA, among others.  I have no doubt that with a little practice, some of this weekends attendees will be sporting a Rifleman patch soon.

I would like to thank all our attendees for a safe and fun weekend.  Tara and John, good to see you both again.  I hope this provided the warmup for Atterbury you were looking for.  I'm looking forward to seeing good things from you and Mark next weekend.  Connie, I could see the wheels turning as you were putting it all together, excellent job of drinking from that firehose.  Richard, you know what you need to work on, and you're going to do some great things with that beautiful rifle you put together.  Mike and Jeff, I'm sorry we couldn't get that conversion kit going, but once you settle on a rifle things will come together nicely.  Ginny, I hope you read this because I have your lawn chair...so now you have to come back! >:D

Thanks to my fellow instructors for coming down.  And a big thanks to our hosts Anita and Dennis for hosting and feeding us all.  You are the type of range hosts we love to keep coming back to.

Well, we do tell them they can shoot the redcoat in any position

So, what is our target telling us?

Enough of prone...on to standing!

And now it's the shooters' turn to try it out

Spitfire is concerned about storms coming, but Andre knows not to worry

The horses stayed away for the shooting, but wandered by during Third Strike, liked what they heard, stuck around for a bit.

Another great day (just one day for me, 2 days for some) at Muscatatuck Christian Ranch.  Beautiful scenery, friendly animals (horses and dogs) and chicken and dumplings for lunch!  We had some flashes of brilliance on Saturday with some pretty impressive stages of the AQT posted by some of our shooters.  I wish I could have attended Sunday to see even more improvement.  Thanks to Dennis and Anita for hosting us.  If you keep inviting us back we are going to keep showing up!

Hey Calamity! I recognized that hat on the line. Glad to see ya had some time to join in the fun! YHJ and I are so sorry we could not be there, but we were working at a different shoot. We are really sorry we missed the chicken and dumplings! Ya'll were in good hands, though and it looks like you had a great weekend! See you next time :)

Calamity

@Neicie......we missed you and YHJ too.  I realized that I am out of shape after this weekend!  Andre called me a young whippersnapper!  I told him that I'm more of an old whippersnapper!  ~~:)  We had a great time, looks like y'all had fun too, I saw the pics!   O0

Tara's end of day 1 red coat was awesome!  IIRC it was 3/3, 3/3, 1/3, 3/3 + the head shot.  She beat my read coat!   ^:)^

Oh, that gravel road beat the living snot out of my front suspension.  We finally did get home but the car didn't make it home.  Broke a CV joint.  I couldn't have been any more lucky though as it finally let loose ~100 yards past a buddy's repair shop in Whiteland.   :P
