Tomorrow is the 232nd (?) anniversary of the battle.  There's a number of re-enactors here for all of it and most of them are from Tennessee.  I walked up in my RWVA t-shirt and it turns out that about 5 or 6 of them have done Appleseed in TN.  My wife and I had a fun time talking with everyone.

Very cool trip!

Some of it might be regional loyalty, but from the perspective of a rifleman I think there's at least as much to be learned at King's Mountain as anything Lexington and Concord could offer.
Incredible!

I was there too!  I am the one in the dark green hooded cape (had my little chihuahua with me too). I was escorted forward by two of the Overmountain men.  I had three family members who fought in the battle of Kings Mountain, two Patriot Overmountain men and one Loyalist, aid to Patrick Ferguson, the one who buried him on the mountain.  I had my Appleseed brochures with me and talked to several of the SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) and they were pleased to learn about it.  I approached my DAR sisters several weeks ago at a District meeting,  but was not very well recieved by them because "it involves guns and we don't do guns!"  Good grief!!  I replied to them "are we not descended from rifle marksman who stepped up and fought for this nation???"  The SAR loved Appleseed though, so hopefully we will increase our visibility with their help!
The Battle of Kings Mountain was the battle that turned the tide of the Revolutionary War in our favor and helped to cause Cornwallis to surrender!  Thanks for being there for the commemoration!!!
