We sure enjoyed meeting so many San Diego county people and families.  Love of Liberty sets you folks apart.

Young shooters hoisted up our flag.  Everybody helped to set up the range.  We talked and shot targets, pondering the generation that made it all possible.

Their stories, their families, their sacrifices, borne for our gain, for our families.

Our young people learning and seeing what free people have done- and can still do.  This is why we're doing it: to transmit a valuation of Freedom to our young people, and on to their families one day.

A father congratulated his son on earning a rifleman patch- "That's my son!" Good work, Josh.

Families shooting together, friends ribbing each other, people having a great time meeting their fellow Americans and our Heritage.

Cynthia, Abbie and Rebecca stuck with the program all day both days.

Gary and Trevor shot with their families, so did Dominic and Mitchel.

Our young shooters showed tremendous heart and great attitudes, helping when asked and getting so excited about their better groupings.

Geoff took an Orange hat to help us out; you should have seen him confidently, properly shooting those old Soviet Bloc weapons.

Every person who attended, thank you for the pleasure of meeting you.

I hope you'll be back with friends and family.

Until then, may God bless us always with Liberty,

I was only able to be there for Saturday, but it was a great event, and much appreciation to everybody involved. I will sheepishly admit that I did absolutely horrible on my AQT's  :-[. I tweaked my shoulder on account of not hugging my M1A tight enough, and even after dropping back to the .22, I just couldn't get the stock to shoulder right. It's healing (I really should have taken a picture - it was a purple lump the size of a golf ball), I'll dry practice and with any luck, next time I'll nail it.

Anyway, thanks to the instructors, and everybody there. It was a great day.

It was a great weekend!  29 shooters braved the southern California heatwave to celebrate our heritage of liberty with volleys of rifle fire.  It was hot, but everyone persisted!

I was only there for an hour or so on Saturday due to work, so hopefully one of the other instructors will chime in regarding the events of that day.

As for Sunday, a great time was had by all!  The day opened warmly, at about 90 degrees when the first round went downrange.  The first redcoat target showed a marked improvement over the first redcoat of Saturday. I could tell the shooters had picked up plenty of water from the firehose of Saturday's instruction! The day (and the heat) wore on, with some fantastic modelling done by Francis Marion, accompanied by instruction from yours truly.

As we started the AQT grind, I saw smiles erupt on the faces of shooters who improved in the few short hours between Saturday and Sunday! It's always great to see when someone finally 'gets it' and starts shooting tight groups!

During lunch, stories of the Dangerous Old Men invigorated all.  I could see grim determination on the faces of the shooters after hearing the stories of these real people who made a difference on April 19, 1775. When lunch came to a close, everyone was ready to shoot!

We hit the line again and started on more AQTs. Scores continued to climb!  A few people came close to the elusive 210, but didn't quite get there.

Then came repeat-Appleseeder Josh with a target!  "Jeff, score this for me!" he said.  And score it I did. The verdict? We made a new California Rifleman!  Josh hit 210 on the nose!  Congratulations Josh!!!

It was truly another great San Diego area Appleseed.  Thanks to all the shooters who came out!  You all make it fun for me, and the other instructors.  I hope to see you all again soon!

I also want to congratulate Geoff (NukeHayes on the forum) on taking his orange hat!  We're happy to have you among the ranks of instructors-in-training.  Thanks for stepping up!
