Tech Sight zeroing issues

Anyone else have to have his rear sight maxed out to the left just to get a zero?  Installation was performed per instructions.  For what it's worth, the rifle is a new 10/22 Takedown model.  Once I got it zeroed I took the rifle apart, reassembled it, and shot another group to confirm zero.  I repeated this three times.  Thanks.

When I installed the tech sights on my Marlin I never had this problem, and that was with saying "to heck with these directions, I don't need no stinkin' directions"...   ;D

On another note I worked a shoot in Crawfordsville, IN where a shooter had this sort of problem... ATM was the shootboss and he may have an answer for you... it was either him or spitfire51 that corrected the sight issue.

Lord make me fast and accurate. Let my aim be true, and my hands faster than those who would seek to destroy me.  Grant me victory over my foes, and those  that wish to do harm to me and mine. Let not my last thought be if I only had my Gun; and Lord if today is truly the day that you take me home, let me die in a pile of empty brass.

Have not seen them used on a 10/22 takedown but let me mention something that was found recently on a black op's mission.

3 sets of Tech Sights on 3 different rifles of the same make and model. all 3 sets maxed to the left on the rear sight to get a zero. Problem? Rifle barrel was not centered when assembled. Barrel SLIGHTLY twisted in receiver. top of post looks centered in rear aperature and the center bore of rifle slightly off.

Might want to look at the muzzle end and see if MAYBE that is the cause? (remember safety first of course!!)
I have noticed you get things done and I respect that-SPQR

Yep...Barrel twisted in relation to the receiver. One of mine didn't show at 25M, well within what I'd call normal windage to zero, but with a 25M zero, it'd shoot 6-8MOA left at 100, adjust for 100, it'd shoot right at 25. With that I could "see" the barrel was twisted by standing back and looking at it. Easy to fix at least on a one piece....O.L.

I had that once and it turned out to be my head position on an ill fitting rifle.

I like the twisted barrel idea better than what I've got to offer but I'll play "Mr. Obvious" anyway:  If your rear sight is maxed out to the left you can drift the front sight to the right to compensate.

Review procedures for 'adjusting front sight'.
To move poi to the right, you will have to slide the front sight to the left.

Front sight adjustments are opposite of rear sight adjustments

With the way the front sigth is made, there's not sufficient play in the drift screws to move the sight over far enough and still get both screws tight.  As far as the barrel issue, what's the fix for something like that?  Thanks for the input.

Drift screws ? You've lost me. My tech front sight base fits in a dovetail. The only screw is a lock screw which won't be tightened until you have zero. if your front sight is in a dovetail you should be able to slide it one way or the other to zero. If it's not in a dovetail, then as I've said, I'm lost.

My sight set has the set screw in the front of the sight but also has a screw on each side of the sight.

Mine must be an earlier version. This is what I find on the website now :  http://www.tech-sights.com/ruger3.htm

It appears the base still fits to a dovetail. Perhaps you can loosen or remove those side mounted screws, drift the sight housing in the base, find your zero then tighten those side screws.

You can always bend the barrel,,,
