Im building two LTR's. One is a bull barreled 10/22. I bought the tech sights front sight adapter. Does anyone have any experience with it ? If so, how is it holdong up ?

The tech sights work great. Which bull barrel did you buy?  Which 10/22 receiver are you running? Most of the bull barrels work well with the Ruger receivers and even better with the Nodac spud brand.

I put the Tech Sight bull barrel adapter on the Clark fluted stainless barrel on one of my 10/22s.  It fit loosely, so I shimmed it with a piece of aluminum cut from a soda can and installed it with JB Weld.  It has been in place for a couple of years and many thousands of Appleseed rounds now with no issues.  It does have a "chamber" or gap where it meets the muzzle that has to be periodically swabbed out with a Q-tip soaked in solvent to remove collected residue, but there is no apparent effect on accuracy, the installed front sight lines up well with the rear unit and the gun has shot multiple rifleman scores in my hands and as a "loaner" at other events.

The receiver is a factory Ruger that I'm salvaging after smoke damaged from our home when it burned a few years ago. The barrel is a Green Mountain S/S fluted.  Ive had the rifle a while but am making a dedicated LTR.  Its a tack driver but we'll see how I do with iron sights. I like the shim/JB Weld plan. I wasn't sure how well the adapter would hold up with blue loctite on it. Thanks for the info.

I installed mine with red Loctite and it has worked fine.

I used blue locktite and a 1"X1/2" sheet of paper as a shim to tighten the fit.

When I wanted to change barrels I put the adapter over the gas stove burner and after a few minutes twisted it off with pliers.

For installing alignment put the whole rifle upside down on the kitchen countertop, the rear and front sight ears will be the only contact points, thus the front and rear sights will be closely aligned.

Yep, I'll throw this out there of a problem I had with a normal barreled 10-22. Stock out of the box, shot it awhile with a scope then installed Tech Sights. Shot great. Zeroed at 25m, at 100m it would shoot 6-8" left, correcting it made it shoot 1 1/2" or so at 25m. Zeroed at 25 it'd shoot more than 1 foot left at 200m.

I've seen that with scopes at long range that wasn't mounted square with the receiver. Come to find out the barrel dove tail does not on it's own mount the barrel square with the receiver, you can twist it a good 10+ degrees and it'll lock down in that position and still clear the ejector. It was twisted a good 5 to 10 degrees and you could "see" it if you looked for it. A fellow would assume it to be straight from the factory, not necessarily so. Loosened the bolts, eyeballed it straight, problem solved. I don't know if I'd trust those "ears" to be even either, a few thousands on one side or the other would cause an issue....O.L.
