Well it was another excellent weekend in Piru California. A perfect time for an under attended over instructed Appleseed shoot. (Thanks Phil). The weather was near perfect which is rare in Piru. Temperature was 65° and sunny. We had three shooters on the line Brian and his son Bailey, and Piru regular Joy. Brian and Bailey were excellent students listening to everything that was said. Bailey at 13 showed more improvement and paid more attention than most adults. And it showed in the groups he shot. Brian by the end of Saturday was scoring in the 170's showing great improvement from the morning. We ended the day at around 4:30. Brian, Bailey and Joy stayed and camped at Piru enjoying the camaraderie of a fire and smores from Casa De Dano with instructors Dano, Johnny and Jeff.

We also had the first ever Piru pushing of the Balls Contest. Each person had a different colored ball and ten shots to push it as far away as possible. Congratulations to Bailey the winner of the contest, well done!!

Sunday was a beautiful day and scores kept going up Bailey kept shooting tighter groups and dad Brian scored 208 and a 206. Joy was practicing her prone and standing position noting it was much easier than when she was in a cast. This was also the first Appleseed she could walk down and check her own targets! Congratulations to Johnny on moving up to IIT 4 and to Jeff for his promotion to ITT 1. Thanks Also to Brian from Orange County for coming out shooting well turning in a 227 to overtake the lead from his wife who shot a 223 at a Ladyseed, congratualtions to both of you for continuing to improve.

And we had a Rifleman made; with a score of 212 Colby is our newest California Rifleman. Colby also came by later and asked about taking an orange hat! A hat was presented but in the hurry to close everything up we did not get a picture.
