Is there any BUIS, which has the elevation and windage adjustable by hand like a M1/M1a, that fit on to a weaver scope base or screw into the receiver?

Old Dog

I've never tried to mount an AR15 BUIS on a weaver scope base.  I'm not sure how close they are to the rails on the AR15's.

There's a heck of a variety of BUIS for AR15's.
"The rifle itself has no moral stature, since it has no will of its own. Naturally, it may be used by evil men for evil purposes, but there are more good men than evil, and while the latter cannot be persuaded to the path of righteousness by propaganda, they can certainly be corrected by good men with rifles."

My old AR-15 has a Weaver flat-top.  It is slightly different than the standard Picatinny rail dimensions.  Some but not all of the accessories sized for Picatinny rails will work on Weaver rails -- high quality products should bolt up fine, but the lower-end stuff may not.

The only rear BUIS that is both elevation and windage adjustable that I know of is the Wilson Combat flip-up series.  Its controls do not resemble the M1 / M14 style aperture, but it looks solid.  Never used one myself.  There are probably more out there.

I personally use GG&G flip-ups, and those have worked well despite my Weaver-dimensioned rail.  But the rear is not elevation adjustable.

If it fits I'd try a Matech BUIS.  I have them on all but one of my AR15's.  They have a round knob for the windage adjustment and a set of lines on the sight that remind you of the back of an M1 or M1A rear sight.  They have a flat sort of knob for the elevation adjustment.  The pointer on the "knob" points to the range you adjust it and the left side of the sight is marked out to 600 yds. as you turn the top of the knob rearward.

No issues so far with mine.  They are/were military issue sights for the flat top models of M16's and their replacements.

I used this link to show you what the Matech looks like.  I wouldn't pay this kind of money for one.  Most of mine have been $35 to $40 off e-bay.  Some still new in the bag with mounting and sight in instructions.

Are the elevation adjustments for .308?

I ended up putting this on my FAL and am pretty happy with it. The quick adjustments are for 5.56 but a few clicks of the elavation nob and your there for .308.
A Hessian captain (one of the 30,000 German mercenaries used by England) wrote in 1778, "Call this war by whatever name you may, only call it not an American rebellion; it is nothing more or less than a Scots-Irish Presbyterian rebellion."

"I need not take much pains to show, that the principles of this system, are extremely pernicious, impolitic, and dangerous. Here is a revolution as radical as that which separated us from Great Britain."  "I Smell A Rat!"  Patrick Henry

"Because they transgressed My covenant, And against My law they have rebelled... They have made kings, and not by Me, They have made princes, and I knew it not"  Hosea 8:1 and 4

They're for GI M16's (M4's and flat top versions of the A2).  Barrel length makes a difference in zeroing (per the instructions).  Bullet weight should as well.  All calculation aside, the best way to be sure about your rifle/cartridge is to shoot it at varying distances and see for yourself - but you'll have to do that with most any BUIS.  With GI issue bullet weights varying from 55, to 62 to 75 (or is it 77?) grains the trajectory varies even in the 5.56X45 AR type rifles.

Are there any aperture buis designed to fit a hunting rifle?
