8 shooters at this 1st 1-Day shoot at Lebanon produced 1 new Riflemen and produced better shooters in CT!

How the day played out:

We began with the Safety Briefing then a red coat.  Then we jumped right into teaching how to build a solid prone position and sling usage. Forging ahead we continued with the 6 Steps, Steady Hold Factors, NPOA, Ball and Dummy and IMC, with each spaced in between sighter groups. Glock23, Faith452 & Bigred200e did a fine job on their POI's.  During lunch vernic82 gave us the First & Second Strikes and then we started the afternoon with standing and sitting positions and safe transitions.  Then went into talking targets, The Rifleman's Dance,  a trigger drill and the fundamentals of KD as well as a few more sighter groups.  After which we posted 6 AQTs in the afternoon, a full day indeed!  The day ended with us cleaning up & hearing vernic82 deliver the Third Strike followed by DOM and The Benediction with a reminder to all to stretch, take a hot bath and some Ibuprofen when they get home and to bring another person to their next Appleseed.

Some highlights:

Returning Appleseeder Bill A. Jr. getting his Rifleman Patch with a score of 214 with his AR!

A big thanks goes to Bozrah Rod & Gun Club, our hosts and Matt & Bill who cooked up a delicious lunch!

"Bozrah Rod & Gun is hot, Hot, HOT!"

Thankfully Bigred200e brought a cooler full of water and an EZ-UP to keep us cool. Vernic82 brought his antique circa-1980's "Used-to-be-EZ-UPs" as well. We were all thankful for the shade.
Much improvement was seen all around. In the "A Rifleman Persists" category, shooter Ryan discovered he was cross-eye dominant after much frustration. Not only did he try shooting opposite the side he's used to, but even taped over his glasses to force himself to use his dominant eye. Talk about embracing BIG changes, and he stuck it out and improved steadily as the day wore on. We'll drag him over the line next time for sure.
Also Rifleman Bill, after not one, but two scores of 209 at his prior Appleseed, finally brings it home!

Bigred200e models an insanely flexible sitting position while Faith452 describes the finer points.

Baptism by brass - a spent casing landed on Mike's nametape and melted itself permanently into place.

How many competitive shooters does it take to score an AQT?

Faith452 calling the line, with authority!

Sleeves? They're so 1980's.

Rifleman Bill, Huzzah!
