Anyone have a perma-fix for a hard rear sling mount on the Magpul MOE buttstock? It doesn't have a QD stud like the CTR does.

#1
how about the front stud for a 10 22 that mounts on the barrel band, that could work on the bottom hole with a # 6 or 8 machine screw and nut; or google: MAGPUL MOE Stock: Sling Swivel Modification, article for another option

I use a piece of paracord tied in a loop.

On my CTR, I actually attached the regular swivel for an A2 stock. There was slot and screwhole for it on the magpull. Does the MOE have anything similar?

Good thoughts George.

The question originated from someone in AR15.com Chat. I said would research options.

JMDavis, I have CTR on my rifle. I use the quick disconnect stud and a QD swivel. I don't see the slot and screw hole of which you speak. Care to post a picture of the mod?

I threaded the free end thriugh one of the narrow slots in the MOE stock and clipped the other end on the front swivel.  No extra fitting needed and I just take the whole thing off before slinging up.

I looked at the small hole at the bottom of the CTR( same as MOE), a wheel in a dremmel could make a slot so the 10 22 stud could be centered or just mount it on either side

I use a 1 1/4" swivel on a machine nut on the bottom hole of my MOE stock from CDNN, see below. Loctite the nut.
