It was another glorious day in Piru thanks to Global Warming it was only in the low 90's. Wind almost none by Piru Standards. We had 11 shooters on Saturday and the 11 Sunday; although not the same 11. We made two Riflemen; first was Mike shooting a 10/22 he was turning in good tight groups all day he scored a 218! Congratulations Mike. Next up was Mark, after having some problems with his 10.22 he borrowed a rifle from Rough Rider and turned in a very nice 226/ I guess Marks time on the Marine Corp Shooting Team did not go to waste!

We had two youth who earned the Luther Blanchard Patches, Kefa and Payton. Both of these guys paid attention and left much better that when the y showed up. Payton shot a very respectable 173 to reach Sharpshooter. He says he will be back to get Rifleman as soon as possible.

Kefa's Mom Don also did a great job and was turning in nice groups and getting all her shots off on the timed stages. This was a big improvement over Saturday. Brian also was a first time Appleseeder and was turning in score in the 170's and 180's. Alex came out and brought friends one from out of state who had a great time and learned a lot. Alex came back on Sunday and was moving steadily up on his scores.

Don Carlson shot the final Redcoat and cleared it, which made him very happy.

Tim Schuker was also shooting very well with a 49 in the standing position. This was with a stock Ruger 10/22 with the open iron sights. He is on the way to becoming a Rifleman.

The half time 2x4 shoot was a great success with right side Camljr's team winning round 1. Round two went to the left side of the line all students. Time to cut the 2x4 in half about 1 minute 20 seconds!

Thanks to Calgirl Ducky for bring out your dad it was pleasure to see him shoot so well in such a little time. Nice improvement on your Standing scores. Hope to see you at the RBC. If you need help deciding on what rifle to get for the RBC send me a PM.

Thanks to all the instructors who showed up to help, without them the students truly would have not learned as much or had such a good time.

Rough Rider, Dead Eye Darlin, Freeman, Steve W, AS Minuteman, Kool Aide, Hollywood Marine, Camljr, Sespe, Pirate.

The pics of the 2x4 shoot are included in the photos. They are hard to see until you enlarge them, they look like group photos but the 2x4 is in the middle!
